Halo Holistic Indoor Dry Cat Food, Cage-Free Chicken Recipe, 6 lb

I switched to Halo Holistic Cage Free Chicken Cat Food to help my indoor cat maintain a healthier weight, and it’s been a great choice—she actually enjoys eating it (which isn’t always the case with “healthy” dry foods), and I’ve noticed she’s become a bit leaner and more active over time; I also feel better about the ingredient quality since it uses real cage-free chicken and skips fillers like grains, and the transition was smooth with no digestive issues at all, though it is slightly more expensive than other options, the quality and results make it well worth it.

We have been using this for about 3 years now. I started buying this because it has no grain in it. Cats are strictly meat eaters and have a hard time digesting grain of any kind. At the time I started with this, I had an old kitty that was always up chucking her dry food. I started by mixing this food with her old to gradually get her used to it. It took awhile as she was not too keen on it, but eventually, she started eating it loved it. Her fur became very soft and shiny and she stopped throwing up. Now I have two other cats that only get this for their dry food. It doesn't have all the chemicals and byproducts that other, cheaper food have. Sure, it costs more, but how much is your cat's health worth? My cats are full of energy, they don't shed all the time anymore, they have clear eyes and their fur is soft. They are the picture of health. I truly believe that all that grain and chopped and boiled chicken feathers can't be good for a cat. This has none of that. I suggest anyone interested in good health for their cat give this a try. I get this on a subscription with Amazon now.....it costs less than anywhere else and I get regular shipments to my door. *Update 11/30/18*My cats are still healthy, playful, with super soft and shiny coats. My two adopted kitties just turned 3 years old. No health issues, coats are beautiful and they all still prefer Halo grain free for indoor cats. I tried a few other brands when I ran out of Halo and my delivery wasn't arriving soon enough. They ate it, but returned immediately back to the Halo went the foods were in separate dishes.Check the ingredients. Your cats (and dogs) are worth it. And you save on vet bills. And my senior kitty is pushing 13 and still healthy and gorgeous.The healthiest cat food, hands down. Using cruelty-free farming for the companion animals is extremely important to me, as well as non-GMO products.I've been feeding my cats Halo Spots Stew for years with no health issues, and my almost 12 year old 'baby' is as feisty as ever. They love the new recipe, small bites, and now grain-free option.I adopted 2 shelter cats, brothers, 2 months ago and they love the food as well. I can see visible changes in the fullest and shine in their long coats as well as healthy weight gain that they needed after over 500 days in the shelters open roaming room. They are turning 2 years old on 11/28/17, and are doing great adjusting to having a home for the first time.I am a lifetime Halo customer as my cats are my kids and deserve the best!

My cat loves this food. I've never seen her empty her bowl like she does with this food. I used to feed her True Instincts cat food, and this is a great replacement since that was discontinued. The only reason I took one star off is because of smelly poops. I'm not sure if it's because my cat is still adjusting, but her poops have smelled especially strong since I switched. I'll keep my eye on that and see if she regulates. Poops have been solid.

I recently took in a beautiful stray cat and named him Stashu. We also have a dog and 2 parakeets. All of our animals eat healthy, really good food and are well cared for. I want all of my pets to live a long healthy life. Our dog has been eating Halo dry dog food and does very well on it. I decided to try the Halo brand for my cat Stashu and he loves it!!!! I feed him both the dry and wet Halo cat food. I am very pleased that this product is Grain Free since felines do NOT eat grains, they are carnivores. Stashu has stopped "Tooting" all the time since he has been eating this food. This is a very healthy food for cats (in addition to adding the Halo can food as well). I highly recommend this product. Its all natural - just read the ingredients.

Got this when it was on sale for a friend who feeds a semi-feral cat. I used to, but I had to move. So, she was kind enough to take over (along with another neighbor who also feeds and provides shelter). They seem to enjoy this food well enough because they’re eating it. I also like that this is supposedly certified humane. Little expensive for what the ingredients actually are, otherwise, though. But, you have to pay a premium for the animals that died to be made into [this] cat food to be treated even half decently. Horrible, isn’t it? Seems like that should be the norm. I know that’s not the case, at all, since 99% of meat comes from atrocious factory farms. I’m just saying the animals that sustain “us” and our pets should be treated much better, overallAnyway, that being said, I’m glad more “humane” pet food options, like Halo, exist. And, again, it seems tasty enough!

I don't write many reviews but this food really helped my cat. Fed him Iams for 10 yrs thinking it was good for him. It's actually like feeding him McDonalds. Okay once in a while but not daily. He started having blood in stool randomly for 3 yrs and we took him to vet and had expensive lab tests and x-rays. Vet thought it was IBD and gave us Prednisone. I did research and tried to change food before giving meds as a last resort. Tried Buffalo Blue, Royal Canin, Orijen, Iams Essentials, Natures Variety, Wellness, and Natures Variety raw food. The higher end foods all did the same thing. About halfway through the transition between foods, stool became soft and then diarrhea. Almost gave up and put him on meds, then saw this food at Petco and read about it. He transitioned to it with no problems and has been eating it now for 10 months. 1 month after switching to this food the blood stopped in his stool and has not returned. He is 15 yrs old and is happy and healthy. We give him a scoop of Halo Spots Stew wet food in the morning and evening and leave the dry food out for him all day. His weight has also stabilized and is coat is really soft. Compare the labels on the different brands. Spots Stew no grain chicken works great for our cat. We don't feed him table scraps and only give him water to drink. He has a lot more energy now (at least as much as a cat can have). I wasn't paid by anyone or given anything free to try for this review. I am just sharing my frustrating experience of searching for the right cat food. If your cat is sick, talk to your vet and do your own research if he says it's IBD.
