Handmade Brass Push Open Compass On Chain with Leather Case, Pocket Compass, Gift Compass

I bought this 7 years ago, and use it once in a while. It's been great, but what really wow'd me is how it tarnished beautifully. It's normal for brass to tarnish, it looks like an antique. The inside as you can see is still beautiful.Also, after 7 years, it's still perfectly accurate. I compared it with another compass and a compass on my iphone, and i know what direction my house faces.

I purchased this item as a gift. The item arrived quickly and was well packaged. I was impressed by the quality of the brass construction and the vintage look the item presented. The compass needle pointed north/south with the precision of my quality hiking compass. Unfortunately, the needle of this item was reverse polarized, pointing south instead of north. I contacted the seller and received an immediate reply. He apologized and quickly offered either a refund or a replacement compass. I chose to replace the item. The new compass arrived quickly and was perfect. I appreciate both the quality of this item and the five-star customer service from the seller.

I needed a sentimental gift that would arrive fast - and this compass was perfect. It arrived on time and I found a local engraver to help me out the same day and I was so happy with the results. The compass itself feels sturdy, well made and so far seems to be accurate with a true north. Highly recommend this product.

I don't know if it works. This is a symbolic gift. The chain seems solid and the little pouch is well made. It feels, however, like you can only push the button to open it so many times before it will stop working. That's okay for my purposes but if you are looking for a functional, regularly usable compass, I might look elsewhere.

So very pleased with this item! The price was unbeatable and the compass is beautiful. I purchased this as a baptismal thank you gift for the Godfather of my sons. It was meant to be a symbolic gift - to make God our "true North" and to always turn toward His word in order to walk toward the light rather than walk in darkness. The gift was well-received.Oh, and the compass works great!

Decent. Seems cheaply made but good for the money

I bought this as a Christmas present and took it be engraved. Not only was I impressed by the quality and feel of the compass and the case as well, but so was my engraver! We had never seen a better product from an online purchase! So worth it!

After saving his allowance for a couple months, our son decided he wanted to spend his money on this compass. He was SO excited when it arrived a couple days later and immediately placed the chain on his belt loop and the compass into his pocket. It was really cool looking! However, the THIRD time he opened the compass, the button broke! Then the brass cover broke right at the hinge. Complete piece of junk. Our son was so upset! Obviously we immediately returned it and went through the refund process with him. This is the downside to Amazon...it may look great in the photos, and even in person...but you really have no guarantee of quality, even if it has the “Amazon’s Choice” label.

J'ai acheté cette boussole pour mon papa, car je trouvais joli son côté vieillot. Elle est arrivée à temps, très bien emballée et en bon état. Très surprise par la qualité de cette boussole (dans le bon sens). Elle est vraiment belle et paraît ancienne. Mon père était très content.

Looks great for a guy who lived antiques and the outdoors.

The compass is surprisingly cute and the case is nice.
