The thrilling, New York Times bestselling sequel to The Kiss of Deception. Review: Perfect. - Arrived in perfectly good condition, can't wait to read it, I loved the first book so much. Review: Lovely - This series is getting better, this book is far more interesting and we get to see more of their worlds and culture of Venda .I really love the lyrical texts of their past books and history. It keeps you at the edge of your seat at the end of the book.

A solid sequel with a jaw dropping Cliff-hanger and action.
My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2 Type: Trilogy – Book 2 Genre: Historical Fantasy world, Magical world, Action & Adventure, Fiction Primary Characters: Lia, Rafe, Kaden Secondary Characters: Pauline, Aster, Berdi, Gwyneth, Sven, Griz, Jeb, Tavish, Orrin, Bryn, Regan, Eben, Natiya Narration: Multiple POV This book was way better than book 1. I was intrigued and looking forward to see what happens between Lia, Rafe & Kaden once they got inside the walls of Venda. It got more interesting with lots of secrets, magic, prophesies and betrayal. This review may contain spoilers from book 1. I suggest reading book 1 before reding this review. I initially thought this would be love triangle, but I loved Lia’s clarity in this. Kaden is still in love with Lia, but she doesn't return anything but friendship. Plot moves forward with Lia being captive in barbarian kingdom of Venda. Lia has drawn Vendan Komizar interests and he has a deeper motive than anyone has expected. Rafe lies his way into staying alive, with everyone believing that he is the Royal Emissary of the Dalbreck Crown Prince. Now Lia and Rafe have less chance for escape. In this book we go deeper into the territory of Venda. We get to see people and culture. This gives a deeper richer sense of world building. I really enjoyed watching Lia come into her own even more. Even though we don’t see much of magic, I loved seeing Lia develop relationship with Vendan people and tradition. I was hoping to see more of Rafe but somehow, I couldn’t see the depth of his character. With Rafe’s deceiving, Lia is angry with him. We could see their relationship being developed, but it wasn’t as I expected. Lia’s character development was astounding. Its more drama and less action, you won’t feel bored anywhere. The plot revolves around more of mind games and politics. Secondary characters were the best in this. People of Venda, Rafe’s friends, Kaden’s comrades all made the book and story livelier. Overall, a solid sequel with a jaw dropping Cliff-hanger and action. I did enjoy learning more about Venda, and exploring all its hidden secrets alongside Lia. Now, I m hoping to see more of Delbreck.

Gelungene Fortsetzung/ OHNE SPOILER

The Heart of Betrayal, @DarkSideBooks
