Five stars for harness, -2 for sloppy description. BELT IS NOT REMOVABLE
TL;DR - Five stars for harness, -2 for sloppy description. BELT IS NOT REMOVABLE. Exchanging for belt-less version. See below for details.Quick background - I'm an engineer that works with buildings. Inevitably, I end up on roofs, manlifts, swing stages, etc. that require fall protection. Been doing this for about four years, probably wearing harness about 30 days out of the year on average. I've used several full body harness in that time frame, all from quality manufacturers, but also all economy models that reeeeeally chafe on long days. Since I'm finding myself in a harness more and more, it made since to replace my current unit with a higher-end, more comfortable harness that wouldn't destroy a project budget - hence, Miller's Revolution model line.Ordered the universal size last week, packaged OK, arrived on time (sold by Amazon). Spent about 30 minutes fitting it (I'm 165-lbs, 5'11", size 31/32 waist and 42 regular chest). I had about half of the adjustment run out on the upper - lower straps after the initial tweaking. Fit was excellent while standing in the office, felt very mobile. Very substantial feel to all components, good-looking stitching, etc. The stand-up dorsal D-ring is a real convenience that I know I'll be missing if I was to wear anything else. Now for the bad news - the description mentions a removable belt. While this is technically true, it's sloppy. The belt you see in the photo is actually two components - a synthetic padded belt that wraps around the hips to about 11 and 1 o'clock, and a leather belt running on the outside of the padded belt. Guess what? The leather belt is certainly removable, but the padded belt is integrated into the harness and cannot be removed.I bought this particular model ostensibly because I believed I could add and remove the belt section as needed, if a job required work positioning (that's what the forward D-rings are for). Since that's not the case, I returned this model and picked up the Miller Revolution equivalent without belt.
