The windows are easy to change. The backpack has thick padding on the backside and on the straps making it comfortable for the wearer. My cat is 9 months old and a little over 12 pounds and he fits comfortably. I have enough room to add a blanket on the bottom for extra comfort for my cat. He actually loves the backpack. He goes inside no problem. I live in New Jersey so I can’t wait to use the backpack on hikes during the spring season. I do wish that the strap inside was longer. It is a bungee strap but you have to pull hard for it to expand. I do have a leash for my cat so I am planning to attach the leash to the backpack’s strap so he can be comfortable and safe. The strap isn’t too much of a concern for me.
