This set has a beautiful array of vibrant colors!! They go on the canvas looking like crayon, but the beautiful magic happens when you blend them!! Let me just say, that the blendability is absolutely amazing!!! The finished product looks like you actually painted it onto the canvas with a brush!! These are so very smooth and buttery, but not near as messy as some other brands! I highly recommend trying out these oil pastels!!! I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed!!! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

{mixed media in my sketchbook; the ladybug and left leaves were created with these oil pastels} They almost seem too good to be true at this price. I almost didn’t order them because I was skeptical; they were in my cart for weeks. But I finally decided to take the chance, and I’m glad I did. The tradeoff is that they smell like cheap lipstick. The colors are vibrant and they are opaque (except for the neons). When I opened the box, there were a few that were jumbled around in the lower tray. None were broken or missing. They’re so soft that they did smudge each other a bit - but that’s nothing a paper towel can’t fix. These pastels blend like a dream. Did I say that already? It’s worth saying twice. In fact, here’s once more for good measure. They. Blend. Like. A. Dream. Bonus points for the color selection. I have the 120 Mungyo Gallery artist’s extra soft pastels too, and this set of Mont Marte ones fill the color gaps really nicely. Especially in the pastel colors which is great for highlights. Normally I don’t like metallic or pearls, which Mr. Marte must have been aware of, as there are only three in this set. A pearl white, silver, and gold, and the gold is *incredible*. Overall, i think the only thing that rats them out as a lower price brand is the wrapper on the sticks. Some are a bit loose or unevenly pasted. Nothing that affects the art, just a small annoyance. I haven’t looked into lightfastness ratings, which I know is a concern for a few people out there. If you’re a professional artist who sells your work, this is something you might want to test or write an email to them to ask. I’m really glad I decided to buy these pastels. I’m really enjoying them. The lipstick smell does seem to fade over time, or maybe I am becoming blind to it. At any rate: they’re worth it. And in case I failed to mention — they blend like a dream.

These pastels are so soft, I have bought many brands in this price range and these are definitely much higher quality than the rest. I ended up buying a much larger set from this brand after using these. These colors are so beautiful, it’s a nice palette to work with. They blend easily and work well with a palette knife as well. Once I have something worth sharing I’ll update my review with a photo 😊

These are great! Very very smooth compared to Mungyo white oil pastels. They’re softer too, which makes it easier to distinguish the white from other colors. They come in a cute little box and will last a while. I recommend!

Haven't found any others that have the softness of these and the only ones I gift to/recommend to my students and other artists. I do wish these sets contained more of the traditional colors, as many colors are missing from each color and too many "off" colors. Otherwise, 5 stars.

This set has a wide selection of beautiful colors that blend easily with my fingers, sponge applicators, or silicone sculpting brush. I haven’t used oil pastels in many years & wanted an affordable set I could experiment with to see if I would enjoy this medium as much as I did when I was a kid. Well, although I’m out of practice & very rusty, I’m having a blast playing with this set. I presume these oil pastels are student grade but they grab to paper with a little tooth for layering AND to smooth paper which is great for blending as long as the paper has some weight. I’m just experimenting with oil pastels right now so I’m just using some mixed media & some old card stock while I get a feel for them. I had forgotten how much fun oil pastels can be! I’m enjoying the instant gratification & freedom you have with a medium that so easily saturates the surface with color & makes blending & layering a breeze. I’m so glad I purchased the his set of oil pastels because they’re easy to use, allowing me to be free to experiment without being tempted to perfectionism since the crayons are meant to be used with a looser technique. Again, I’m just experimenting & learning as I go, but this set is a terrific buy for the price, wide color selections, & different effects I’m discovering along the way. I definitely recommend this set for anyone who ho loves color & using something so versatile.

After hours of research, I decided to get these over other sets because I wanted soft, blendable pastels with a gorgeous color range and without an odor. They absolutely delivered. Really beautiful presentation and packaging. Dreamy and incredibly creamy colors that blend smoothly. Perfect for thicker impasto and impressionist styles which I was going for. I could not be more satisfied. I love them and I had the most fun I’ve had making art in years. Truly impressed. These are amazing value.
