Nelson Rigg Hurricane Waterproof Dual Sport Saddlebags

First thing I want to say is the service from Nelson Rigg has been great. My original purchase was either missing a strap or I did not see it. I returned and received a new set. Could not be happier. The bags are fitted on a Honda Rally CRF300L. To set them up properly I made a call to Nelson Rigg and they help me through the process so again 5 stars for that. The bags seem durable, and since i have stock muffler I will not need to add any heat shield. Nice features are zippers seem strong, the bags while not fully tested for waterproofness seem to be made to withstand the elements. The addition of strap holders is all a nice touch. Product price is excellent as well. I recommend their products not only for quality but also for the support they provide.

I thought to upgrade from my Wolfman enduro saddlebags with these which are a little larger. The webbing for mounting appears robust, but not of a configuration that I liked for my DRZ400. Additionally there are straps under the bags to secure accessories. I did not plan to use these and am concerned this low slung webbing might get snagged when riding single track. I could not bring myself to cut it off. The additional storage would have been useful (an extra 2 liters per side) as well as these bags being waterproof. I also thought that I would like the roly top ...... but not as much as I like zippers. I opted to keep my current saddlebags in service, but use water proof stuff bags inside. Easy access with a zip yet still dry with the stuff bags (I would have been using stuff bags anyway with the waterproof bags).

Great quality. Can't wait to get them mounted. They seem really sturdy. But if you're expecting huge bags that you're going to go on a week-long trip with, these aren't them. They're a little smaller than the large ones

I got this as part of my Nelson Rigg camping set up. I have the tank bag, the ADV saddlebags, the tail bag, and the duffle. Altogether there is room for my tent, sleeping pad, camp chair, sleeping bag, clothing, camp kitchen, food and water. And it all fit on my Yamaha XT 250.

Didn’t work for me, too many steps to mount - unmount. To unload the packs and re-strap on would be a 40+ minute added to a hotel stay. Too much. If you’re traveling and have any valuables, you gotta empty or take with into restaurants or other places where your bike is unattended. It’s just not possible ( for me ) to have to do all that for a 30 minute stop.

I purchased both the newer and oder version dual sport saddlebag, both are 5 star, pro for the newer is larger, has more straps on top and bottom to increase storage, waterproof material, semi like there good for larger dual sport adventure riders, haven't used them yet, the older version to me seem a lot more durable better for long day trips, there not water proof but the pretty good at water resistant, I really like the design, I keep the expanding section unzipped all the time because the straps do tight everything closed to the bike, I have the older version on a bike in Colorado and have used them on day trips of gnarly rough terrain without any problems, so don't count the old version off your list there priced good

Heard a lot about these bags and I was really looking forward to getting them. Was missing mounting straps from the get go. Contacted nelson rigg and they said they would send a new one, great! Tried mounting it with some extra bits of strap I had, when I began trying to mount I realized that lots of the seams were starting to tear and fray already just right out of the box. I can't imagine how much worse those would get with actual use especially since it's held on via tension on these strap points. Very disappointed and expected more. Do not buy these pieces of junk go find something that is actually made properly. Super bummed :(

Bought these for my WR250r to cross the Simpson Desert. This luggage system is absolute quality (able to stand up to the toughest conditions). Also 100% waterproof too. Best price anywhere!

These bags are a perfect fit on an Africa Twin, they look good too. They arrived late contrary to the ETA provided by seller. With that said, they were mounted as per the instructions and YouTube videos provided by NR (Nelson Riggs) and yet still, without even loading anything in them one failed. Only one ride to the grocery store for a quick item and came out to use the bag. I open the bag thinking it looked kind of deflated despite installing the "stays" as recommended by NR to keep shape only to find a rip in the flap that holds the plastic "Stay" (firm floor board plastic to keep bags shape) NR provides in the package. This is not only disappointing considering I was prepared to go on a trip but now the seller is causing issues as well stating it is out of their hands after 22 days. There is a huge reason only to use Prime backed products, Amazon does protect their customers interests and investments unlike third party sellers. Caveate Emptor
