Pham on September 5, 2021 is incorrect. "cordycep is derived from an insect -there is no fruity body." Though cordyceps are found in the wild growing out of insects the fruiting body is the part of the mushroom that emerges from the insect whereas the mycelium is the vegetative part of the mushroom and found inside the body. The mycelium supports the growth of the fruiting body for purposes of reproduction.
