Alice Oseman’s storytelling reaches new heights as we delve deeper into the lives of Nick and Charlie. This installment beautifully navigates themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and the complexities of relationships, all while maintaining a perfect balance of humor and heartfelt moments. The character development in this volume is exceptional, with each character’s journey feeling relatable and authentic. Decisions decisions
Volume five in the graphic novel series about two schoolboys who fall for each other. Just in case you've not heard of it before, go and start with volume one. This volume picks up from where the last one left off. It's a very big volume as well. In both ways. It's a little larger sized in terms of how big the pages are than others. It's also got a lot of them. About three hundred and sixteen. Nick and Charlie are firmly together. So what next? How far do they take things? There's also choices to be made re the future, as they won't be school pupils forever... This sticks to a formula that has worked superbly well so far. And it does it once again. It is surprisingly easy to read this and not think of the tv version, because this is beyond that as to where the story is. But it does all that it did before. Realistic dialogue. Solid artwork. And sympathetic characters. Everything moves along very well. Perhaps the best thing to say is that fans will not be disappointed. I liked how it did acknowledge how much pressure there seems to be on the younger generation these days in regards to certain things. Something that the tv version seemed to bring home. Without perhaps trying. There's a nice moment with one grown up character having a little epiphany. This I put down as being thirteen and up. Purely on the basis of previous volumes. This one does have more adult stuff than before and one bit of strong language. It does have one moment that initially I wasn't keen on, as it felt like a box tick too far. But this moment does actually give you some interesting food for thought about relationships. So I will happily eat my words on that. This could perhaps do with a few more straight characters. But what the heck. I am well older than the target age for this series, so that's life. It does though rather skip past one thing set up in the last book, only barely acknowledging it. Which was a surprise. But so be it. It does end with various extras from where to go for help with various issues. To character pictures and a timeline. Among others. This is not the end of the story. One more volume is to come. I am sure fans can't wait. I look forward to seeing how it goes as well.

Really well thought and moving
I thought I was not going to enjoy this volume as much as the previous ones, so, in all honesty,I was not as excited about its release as I had been before with the other volumes. I had read the comic already in Alice Oseman’s Patreon, so I knew what was coming. But the experience is not the same when you get to be immersed in the story like you do when you decide to read the whole new volume again, instead of receiving several (almost daily!) updates weekly. I could now observe and enjoy how well structured the story is, how consistent is the plot, how well portrayed are the characters, their evolution, and how tactful and moving is the whole book, but especially the “main” events that happen in it (I will avoid any spoilers). I said it once and I will say again: Heartstopper gets better with every volume. I am so grateful I can enjoy this at the same time that it is being created! Don’t miss this opportunity if you can 😊 Of course, I am looking forward to reading the last and final chapter in Volume 6. Keep the amazing job up, Alice! 😃

Absolutely stunning
I loved this one so so much, as I did with all the Heartstopper books, and I reckon this one might be my favourite after the first! A large part of this book was about sex, and for a young adult queer book, I thought it was handled really well and appropriately. The other main storyline was of course Charlie's mental health but seeing his confidence and growth in this book was so beautiful. Apparently the next book I need to read is This Winter which I know I have SOMEWHERE in the house so I'll try and find that soon because I can't get enough of them ❤️ There's a reason these books are so well loved and it's just gorgeous.

Good series but mature
I’ve been waiting for a while for the 5th Heartstopper book, and overall, I’m generally quite happy with it and was a great purchase. It’s fun and honest with some really heartwarming moments. The 5th book flows really well but is mainly centred around one subject - sex. The series seems to have matured quite a bit compared to the first books and some of the pages are on the verge of inappropriate for younger audiences, despite the content rating remaining constant. However, if you are over the age of 15 I believe it’s a must read due to the topics it discusses, and ways in which it encourages safe sex. I just need to remember to never eat cucumber again!

Wow, just wow! (No spoilers)
Where do I even begin! Heartstopper has been a long time favourite of mine and since I finished volume 4, I've been very impatiently waiting for volume 5! Though the TV adaptation did manage to tide me over, seeing the notification that volume 5 was out for delivery made my day! And of course, I read it as soon as I got it out of the Amazon packaging. Alice Oseman did amazing, it's such a great continuation onto the previous 4 and whilst sticking to the classic Heartstopper story with all of our favourite characters, it also showed a different side of things as the characters all get older. Overall, it was a great read. I'm so happy with it and I'm already desperate for volume 6 whilst also being a tad upset that it will be the finale for the beloved series. And to Alice, the author, if they're reading this, thank you. Thank you so much for another beloved Heartstopper graphic novel.

One of the most-important literature series, ever!
With ZERO hesitation, I would recommend this series to ANYONE/EVERYONE. Not to be overly hyperbolic, but Alice Osman's Heatstopper series is probably the most important literature of our day. Ignoring the fact that it is a "comic book" and "queer-themed," this series is relevant for ALL READERS of EVERY AGE. Key things that are expertly modeled in the series: 1) Open and Authentic Communication! These characters communicate openly and honestly about their feelings, emotions, struggles, and joys. 2) Trusted Friends and Family! The series explores the power and impact of trusted/supportive friend groups (as emotional pillars) and the power of family (positive and negative) to impact mental health. 3) Trust in Relationships! The main characters (Nich & Charlie) are young people and they have a lot to discover about themselves and their feelings (emotional and physical). The series models healthy and supportive relationships that allow space for personal discovery, growth, and vulnerability. 4) Many Levels of Intimacy! The characters (couples and non) display advanced emotional intelligence. They recognize, embrace, and celebrate the many different levels of intimacy - from making eye contact to pats on the arm to forehead kisses, passionate embraces, and even different forms of sexual intimacy. These are never overtly discussed, they just ARE the reality of this "Osmanverse" and it is beautiful. 5) Honesty in Mental Health! Especially in Volume 4, Alice Osman has presented a gentle introduction to the complexities of mental health struggles and the impact on family, friends, and partners. More importantly, she has presented valuable outlines for communication that can open dialogs and aid in strengthening support systems that can productively address mental health. Some have complained that HEARTSTOPPER is a fantasy world where the characters do not experience the trauma and conflict that LGBTQ+ people experience in the real world, which may be true. But I would ask these critics to consider the fact that the characters are operating in a completely NEW emotionally authentic space, which is different from the "real world" people and most characters in literature. And maybe, just maybe, if we were to model our communications, relationships, intimacy, and emotional prioritization in the way the HEARTSTOPPER characters do, we could experience a better world. In so many ways, the HEARTSTOPPER story of Nick & Charlie (and all the people that surround them) is a refreshing depiction of the NEW youth culture that is emerging in the world. I love what these books represent and how they show the ways love, communication, trust, and authenticity can transform people. The entire HEARTSTOPPER series should be on your bookshelf, and you would be well-served to take them down and fall into this world from time to time. You may start to notice that the young people coming of age in the time of HEARTSTOPPER are transforming the world around them, and we are all the better for it.

Bellissimo, aspetto l'ultimo capitolo

Perfect condition and super fast arrival
Book itself is in a perfect condition, no rigged edges or any ripped paper + to my surprise it arrived WAY EARLIER than it was expected. It was supposed to come few days after Christmas, but somehow they managed to deliver it anyway the day before! About Heartsopper. I love the stroy, it's one of those you can relate to as a younger reader and it may even help you heal from past feelings (it helped me). And although the series are free to read on webtoon, having a physical copy is amazing
