Bought this rack to fit a Prado with a swinging back door. I wanted to be able to open the back without removing the bikes and it does just that. The instructions for install were a little thin starting with what size tires you have. The rack adjusts to three different tire widths so check that first. The rack came set to the middle size and didn't fit well. I have 265's so went with the widest setting and it's a good fit. Then there's the two straps. One goes from the top of the rack around the back of your spare tire, out the bottom and back the rack. Put this on first. Then the other one goes around the underside circumference of the tire. Then try your bikes a couple different ways to see what fits best. The instructions say to place one bike facing left and the other right but we found our bikes fit better both facing left. Once you've got it figured out it's really quite quick and easy to pass a cable lock through your spare wheel to lock the bikes for overnight expeditions. Overall I would recommend this rack for the back door spare tire crowd. Cheers.

I researched for days before I decided to purchase this over tire bicycle rack for my vehicle. It was very easy to install in a few minutes. The rack is very sturdy and can carry 2 bicycles of varying sizes. The rack has minimalist look. We have had our rack for about 2 years now and it has lasted through a couple bicycles. The cost was economical for the features provided. This rack functions as intended by the manufacturer. I would definitely purchase again.

Only bicycle rack that allows the Jeep gate to swing open without removing bikes. Great materials, looks , and construction ,and priced well below MSRP at Amazon. Some cons for use on a Jeep; 1) the swing gate sags under the added weight of a big tire 32" tall by 10.75" wide, and two bikes. The mount barely works for this tire and one of the straps is not long enough, so I had to loop it thru the rim spokes. Also I did not like the offset arms, which put the bike front tires in the wind near the driver side. Finally, the adjustment knobs in my opinion should be facing outward to make it easier to tighten.

Excellent rack once some extra bits are added! The Rack was not too difficult to fit but requires to loosen the spare tyre, then retighten. Also the holding clips may need to be undone and slid horizontal to get the bikes in place…(ours did) Also the straps supplied are insufficient to hold rack in place so need to use an additional ratchet strap around the tire and holding rack. Also need to add elastics to hold bikes firmly in place; damage/scratches can be avoided by cutting a pool float into parts, slicing one side and using on exposed bike parts. Our 2 bikes weighed more than the recommended 30kg max, so we took off the front wheels…and carried inside car ok.. Rack once we added above bits held the bikes firmly, no swaying or other movement…and we did 14kms off road to get into our Fishing lake… same out… all OK!
