Berghaus Yeti Extrem Pro II Gaiter

Berghaus site says size Large fits boot size 7.5 to 8.5. No way! I bought a Large to fit my size 8 Scarpas. After struggling all day to fit them I took them to the village garage. They heated them, put the boot in a vice and used a tyre lever to try to stretch them over the boot. Even the biggest muscled guy couldn't get them on!

Yetis are the business - the last word in boot protection short of going as far as £600.00+ Himalayan-compatible combos, IMO..BUT.. (while they have always been notoriously difficult to fit - I've had pairs since they were first launched) they seem to have got even worse!I've actually given up on these (despite buckets of hot water etc) and swapped for a XL pair my brother has given up on (still a massive, painful struggle, but they're on)- we're going to try and fit these to his wife's boots.Incidentally, they are sized L, which my previous pair are (rand has gone) so I bought the "right" size..

Used in the arctic with Scarpa Mantas and they worked a treat. Not difficult to get the gaiters on the boots when you have the knack for it (but practically impossible otherwise!). Once on, stayed on for whole trip.

Regrettably the rand disintegrated on one of these gaiters in the first few days of use; I would not recommend these for use in anything other than snow or boggy ground.

Really good piece of kit, but look at the you tube video, on how to put them on you're boots, as they are quite difficult to put on.

Perfect size but need extra strength to fit onto shoes
