What an interesting and independent lady Alice is at a time when lady's should be seen and not heard, I am looking forward to reading about her new life and further adventures.

If you enjoy reading historical fiction then I heartily recommend “Just Causes” by Georgia Piggott. Set in Dorset in the 17th century at the time of the plague, it tells the story of Alice Edwards, left alone after the death of her parents and fighting for everything she holds dear. I am not normally a huge fan of historical novels but I couldn’t; put this one down. I think the main reason for that is I believed in all the people, what they did, what they said. In other words, character before plot and period – just the way I like it.MJB

I don't usually read this genre but the story is so intriguing I couldn't put it down. The detail and depth of characters are mesmerising. A fantastic read, so well written I hope there are many more to come.
