Rosin for cello
Good product, son says it works fine on his cello bow. Better having the plastic grip on it to make it easier to apply as opposed to the rosin alone. Smaller than expected but does the job, still good value for money.

Impressive rosin for the money
The rosin that came with my student's violin was hard as hell and needed a lot of rubbing in before I could get any sound out of my violin. This D'ddario rosin was so much easier to use. I still had to scratch the surface slightly with a file before taking it to my bow, but that is normal for pretty well any rosin. Only took a minute or two's rubbing before I could get a full sound of of my fiddle. Only thing I don't like is the matchbox-like cardboard container that does make it slightly fiddly (har!) to tap the rosin block part way out of the box to use it. Overall though, for the modest purchase price, this is a very decent product.

Easy to use
I have not used this product yet as have not had time, but will use it to make solder flux by crouching it up into a fine powder and mixing it with Isopropyl alcohol, let devolve for 12 hours and filter, ready for great soldering, hope this helps

Pretty good
I don't own a violin but I own a Hurdy Gurdy (trust me you don't wanna see what the Rosin looks like now) and its really good

Quite a good big size
Nicer than the one that came with the violin. it comes in a little matchbox thing so that's a bit finicky for an 8 year old. It doesn't have a lid so I don't think it'll dry out.

An effective cello rosin, inexpensive and convenient all round
I've been a student of the cello for two years and bought three cakes of dark rosin in that time; this one, Pirastro 9011 Good Quality Rosin Specially Formulated for Cello, and d'Addario Kaplan Premium Rosin with Case - Dark. I bought all of them from Amazon and this one was by far the cheapest. The UK climate is not particularly extreme and frankly I find it hard to notice much difference in use between the performance of this rosin and the others, though this one may be marginally less sticky. The chief advantage of this block of rosin is its shape, which is much more convenient to use than the round cake shape that the other two rosins come in. Also the round cakes have a tendency to fracture on the edges as they are used, scattering tiny shards of rosin across the carpet. So far this block has not fractured at all. The matchbox style packaging is also extremely convenient. The Pirastro rosin has to be wrapped up in an attached cloth and tucked away into a small box for transport or storage. The d'Addario plastic case with a clip-lock lid is handy but as time has passed the rosin block tends increasingly to jam and get harder to turn. I use rosin pretty freely but although there is residue on my strings after practice, there's very little accumulation on the surface of the cello. So this is certainly my rosin of choice and the one I'll be returning to.

A good Rosin
My new bow didn't play at all as it didn't have any rosin, this sorted it out instantly. No complaints at all and very good for the price

Should carry one in your instrument case
Cannot be more basic than this when it comes to rosin! But it is good quality and it does the job well. No fancy packaging or holder though.
