I haven't used hot water the hose, but I should see why not, as long as it's not boiling hot.

Can this attach to a normal hose

This hose will not fit to a hose reel of any kind as there are no provisions to attach it to the reel, It is a good hose, but just straight and gets in the way on the floor and you have to be careful not to trip over it. It is Hoselock and I also bought a Hoselock reel, with is rendered useless for lack of fittings.
