VILVA 15.6" FHD IPS USB-C HDMI Portable Monitor

Works fantastic. Love the built in cover to avoid screen damage. Bought it for my semi-retired wife to use when we travel. Since COVID almost all of her meetings are remote. At home with two monitors easy to share one and host meetings on the other. I finally thought of one of these lcd separate screens for her and she was delighted. Pros: IPS screen is great and has a wide viewing angle. Love the matte finish. Built in cover stand works well. Super easy setup. Used my desktop with a USB 4.0 port and it came right up and worked fantastic on USB port only. My laptop has USB 3.1 and it also perfectly. USB 3.0 on wifes laptop had to use the HDMI port and external power supply. Cons: none really. I didn't check out the settings as it worked perfectly with no changes. Did not use built in speakers. The instructions were fine, BUT should have included more warning that it MUST be USB 3.1 or newer and if it doesn't work for you, try HDMI and external power supply. It drove my wife insane and she gave it back to me totally frustrated. I knew why so figured it out easy, but I'm a lot more tech savvy. It it was more forceful in trying HDMI/external power supply combo, they could save some issues. I suspect a lot of the "pos, couldn't get it to work at all" comments were because they didn't know the different port specifications in 3.0 vs 3.1. Overall I can't recommend this enough. Not quite the cheapest, but the absolute bottom end is where the QA is missing and busted pixels live.

I use this with my laptop and it is amazing! Easy set up, thin and lightweight so fits in my laptop bag and makes working so much easier! Highly recommend!!!!

Monitor works well be advised I had to use separate power supply with hdmi to make it work.Monitor is bright with no lag. Pleased with the purchase.

This VILVA 15.6-inch portable monitor gets four stars from me. The actual monitor itself is very good. The picture quality is great, the screen is bright enough for everyday use, and the video quality looks really sharp. I’m not using this for gaming or anything super intense, mostly just work tasks and having a second screen, and for that it does the job very well. The biggest thing people need to understand though is that “portable” and “15.6-inch monitor” don’t totally compute together. This is a pretty large screen, which is great when you are actually using it, but if you travel a lot or fly cross-country, it is not exactly something that disappears easily into your luggage. Just by nature of the size, it loses a little bit of that portability factor. That said, the monitor itself is surprisingly lightweight for how big it is, which definitely helps. It also comes with a stand so you can adjust it to whatever angle works best for you while using it as a second screen. Overall, this is a really solid monitor with good brightness and picture quality. Just keep in mind that 15.6 inches is a pretty good-sized display, so make sure that fits your idea of “portable” before buying it.

This monitor is a great deal. Honestly for the price you can't beat it. Picture quality exceeded expectations. Speakers are crap but who doesn't have a Bluetooth speaker around.. only thing I'd be careful of is the HDMI port seams to be loose. Prob the cheep cord it came with. But all in all I would definitely recommend if your on a budget or won't break the bank if your kid drops it or throws it out the car window..

It says it’s supposed to be plug and play, It is not! Not only is it not P&P. In the manual, which it doesn’t say in the description, to use a separate power source if adequate power supply is not available. But it does in the manual. Regardless, all devices were charged. My IPad, laptop and desktop were fully charged, but the only way to get this thing working and only with mini HDMI, was to plug in a separate power source to the monitor. Power supply that they do NOT provide by the way. If your device does not support mini hdmi, you will be out of luck. I’m considering sending this junk back, as I feel it was sold under false pretense. Would I recommend? NO! The reason why is because there are better devices that are actually P&P and easier to navigate. Again, thinking of packing this junk up and sending back myself. Good luck if you do purchase it. Remember, your device will need USB-C 3.1 or mini hdmi AND a separate power supply. Good luck.

I've had this for over 5 months, so I feel comfortable giving this a review. To start out, I won't hold back...this rocks. You CANNOT beat it for the price. Picture is bright and the colors are great. If I were to knock anything, it would be the folder/stand. It's worthless. But, I bought an inexpensive stand that works just how I want and would have gotten that anyway for my set up. I use it for my second desktop monitor and never realized how much I needed this thing. It made my life sooooo much easier. In the photos, you get a hint on its size and quality set up next to my 10 yr old Samsung 17in monitor. that is also a beast considering how long I've had it! The only thing I can say about portability is that, yeah, it is definitely portable, but I don't use it for that. I can honestly recommend this without hesitation. Hopefully the photos will help you see why.

Works great! I got this in early 2025, so I've had it for over half a year now. It is 60Hz, of course, so it's not super high refresh rate, for those that care. I play at 60Hz anyways, so it works great for me, and it DOES come with freesync for AMD GPUs, which you have to turn on in the settings menu. So, playing at 60FPS or lower won't be stuttery, which is something that the 120Hz portable monitors I've found don't have, on top of being more expensive. The monitor I got is in a metal casing and weighs 1.6 pounds, or 725 grams. I run it off of the mini HDMI port for video and USB-C from a USB 2.0 hub for power. I have had rare flashes of black screen where it appears to reset while playing games, but I think that's a power issue. I've recently purchased a USB power display, and it says that at 40 brightness, this monitor draws up to 0.5A, or 2.5 watts. This puts it right at the recommended edge of usb 2.0's power delivery, which is 0.5A (probably why I've gotten occasional resets). However, if you power it with a usb 3.0 port (blue ports, or USB-C), those have a maximum rating of 0.9A, which should be fine for even maximum brightness, where this monitor draws 0.8A at max. My research said that portable monitors often draw between 10-15 watts, so a maximum of 4 watts is pretty good. As for dimensions, it's ~8.625in from bottom to top of the monitor, and its 14 inches wide. For the thick section at the bottom, its 0.43in thick, and 0.24 inches thick at the top. The bottom section goes up 2.735in of the height. Hopefully this helps anyone else doing some modeling with this. It has two screw holes, which I think are M.4 screws (so, metric). I haven't had any problems with the mount holes, though I don't have the monitor suspended like other reviews have done. The menu control isn't great in my opinion, but it works well enough. You have to push in on the volume select knob to open the menu AND select stuff, which is not super easy, and you use the button to back out of stuff. The menu is pretty comprehensive though, and it does have blue light settings, going in increments of 25%. If you flick up on the knob first, then it adjusts screen brightness. If you flick down first, then it adjusts monitor volume. I actually just figured that out while typing this review, and I respect how many features they packed into a couple buttons. Overall, it works good, it's reliable, and should be durable with the metal casing. Easy enough to use. The cover which comes with it doubles as the stand. Works great as a cover, but slips too much to make a good stand. If they rubberized the bottom of the cover, I think it'd work better. I don't use it anyways, so not a problem for me.

I use this for my work laptop when I am traveling for business or when I'm away from my home and this is a great product for me to carry since it does not weigh much and it is very portable. I'm used to having two screens at home or at the office and it is very convenient to have this extra screen when I have many windows open for work. The price was very affordable too and the size of the screen is just the right size for me. It comes with various cords USB, HDMI, and USC but it would be nice if I can charge and use it without all these cords. The cover can be converted to a stand for the screen. The instruction is very clear to setup. I would recommend this product if you're looking for a second mobile screen.
