I don't know how long I went without these little beauties. I grew up in Mexico and they were a really common snack, but when I moved to the states 16 years ago they were nowhere to be found. I was craving them a few months ago and so went looking online. I found this huge pack on Amazon and was like, "okay, probably going to take me forever to finish, but whatever." I polished these bad boys off in a month, and I've been buying this huge pack every month since. They're my favorite snack to have at my desk, and I'll pound half a sleeve of them at night before bed. I consider them a "healthy" snack though I'm not sure if that's true lol Some of the sleeves are a little stale, but most aren't and even the stale ones aren't bad. They taste exactly like the ones in Mexico. An excellent treat if you're feeling homesick or nostalgic. For anyone who hasn't had them before, I can't really describe them. Like peanuts but with a hard, crunchy, umami shell. Why are Japanese peanuts a Mexican thing? No idea. But it's a beautiful marriage of two cultures. Chef's kiss!

These Japanese peanuts taste very close like the ones from Mexico City. However the shell is a bit harder than the ones from Mexico.
