I love these hats! I have four now in different colors. The style is casual but not careless, versatile and practical for most occasions. You can wad it up and stuff it in a big pocket or bag, but it’ll straighten right out with a bit of reshaping. The brim isn’t too floppy and has a bit of a western shape to it. Plenty of shade for your ears, nape and face, but not so big it gets in the way when driving. I appreciate the chin strap on windy days too. It was bit tight for me at first, but stretched out comfortably after a few wears. Most women’s one-size-fits-all hats are normally a bit snug on me. Best of all is the ponytail hole. I cut the adjustable strap off mine so I’d have more room for my curly hair. Keeps it back while helping secure the hat and helps you look more put together on bad hair days! I’ve received several compliments on my collection.

This hat works great to keep the sun off of my head, face, ears and some of my neck while working out in the yard. I have a slightly larger head than a lot of other women (and some men) and find that most hats are too tight, and adjustable ones have to be made pretty big to be non-constricting on me. This hat fits me great. If you tend to find that hats are often too large on you, and the adjustable ones you have to make as small as they go, this will most certainly be too sloppy. It is not adjustable. I like the pony tail holder, that is really nice for keeping hair off of my neck and out of my face. The chin strap is useful for windy days, and it's adjustable so you can have it at a comfortable tightness. With the straps coming in front of my ears, it can be annoying if I don't pull the string tighter, even if it's not necessary otherwise. The hat is pretty lightweight and pliable. Doesn't make my head too hot, even on a sunny day. The hat arrived folded up but the creases straightened out fine after a short time wearing it. It's a good hat and doesn't look ridiculous. I'd wear it hiking or even at an outdoor event. But it's perfect for yard-work (and was the purpose for my purchase). Price is reasonable.

The brim is slightly cupped, meaning it wouldn’t sit completely flat on a table, say, so it catches a breeze more than a flat hat would and it blows off your head no matter how tightly you adjust the strap for fit, nor how tightly you secure the one under your chin. I am in LA about 4 miles from the ocean, where we frequently get a nice cool breeze, but that’s all it is, a breeze. I frequently have to look down while I’m walking to keep the hat on my head. It is a bit annoying to have to stop, set my water down, and adjust my hair and put the hat back on. If I had a pony it would be easier to put the hat back on, but it would still blow off. All of that said, this is still the hat, of all the ones I have, that I wear because it’s nice and light and cool.

I bought this exact hat elsewhere last year among a few others to try out. It worked out the very best so I bought several more in black, gray, and olive when the price was right. I like variety, plus it's hard not to get sweaty since I work outdoors. I also wanted a fresh hat to grab in between washings of used ones. Some of the other hats I've purchased seem to be a better fit for a man's head and always have to overly cinch the strap to keep it on my head during just a moderate breeze. This one works great for a normal woman-sized head plus there is an adjustable elastic band around the inside above the brim to make a further tighter adjustment if needed. Definitely holds up to wind better without choking my chin out. The ponytail opening in the back is a nice option for people with longer and more luxurious hair. I don't really use it because my hair doesn't meet that criteria, but the extra ventilation is nice. I honestly believe the general style of this brimmed hat can also work for men/boys. I don't utilize the side snaps I wash these hats pretty regularly, but make sure to air dry them for extra longevity. They've been holding up quite well. My head doesn't supremely overheat wearing it (I mean, when the weather is Africa Hot, you're going to be overheated no matter what). Catching a breeze through the mesh on top is super nice though. I have occasion to wear a mosquito head net and this hat manages to do an okay job of not entirely collapsing on my face when I do. The very top head bucket generally maintains it's structure if you don't pull it down too much. I feel like I look good in this hat and have, in fact, gotten compliments when I do. Especially when I 'put on my face' and throw on some ridic super shiny/dangly/hoopy earrings. This is definitely a hat I will re-buy if I wear out or lose the extras I have.

NPJY Ponytail Sun Hat was a great purchase. It keeps the sun out of eyes and off neck. Bought several for gifts in addition to mine and heard very positive reviews. The strap helps keep on head or off around neck so you cannot loose in wind. In addition, it is very stylish, soft, and lightweight. It's durability keeps its form and lining in washing machine.

This is the most affordable, most life saving hat I've ever worn! I'm a park ranger that regularly faces winds 50+ mph, heavy rain, and hours of sun. The drawstring can either be worn behind the head if it's a nice day out or has never pulled loose if I have the thing yanked around my chin for dear life. If you have a smaller head like I do, the hat's elastic in the back has so much wiggle room to tighten (especially after changing hair up/down tension) and does not relax easily after wearing it fully drawn. The color (black) has not bleached in hundreds of hours in the field, the fabric hasn't frayed, and the cord is still durable. The flex in the hat lets it smush against your bag and pop back into shape again which I really appreciate. The mesh on the side is breathable but I never had any sunburn leech through the hat or mesh areas even when out for hours without scalp sunscreen, and the ponytail hole in the back is REVOLUTIONARY! If this thing ever gets lost off a mountain, or by ~somehow~ gets ripped, I will be immediately purchasing a backup.

I was very disappointed in the way this hat was shipped. It was folded flat and that caused 2 bad creases in the brim of the hat. If it had been rolled instead of folded flat I think the brim would have held up much better. That being said, I decided to try wetting the brim and then ironing the crease. It did help so I chose to go ahead and keep it. Many of the reviews of other hats also mentioned the folds so ordering another hat didn't seem like it would remedy the problem. Everything else about the hat is positive, it is lightweight, the adjustment to tighten the band is nice, brim size was good, drawstring works well, ponytail hole wasn't as large as some and the price was fair. If it hadn't been for the shipping method and the folds in the brim I would have given this hat a 5 rating. So, if you don't mind a folded and creased brim I would recommend this hat.
