My office/library is on the third floor of my house and I have never yet managed to get 5ghz to reach that far. This is the thing to do it. Very impressed so far.

Though it does look a bit like an upside down spider, I wouldn't do without it.

I bought this to connect to and maintain a wifi connection based on a top review from PC Gamer magazine.Having read some reviews on Amazon warning about the device failing after a few months I thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt and buy it anyway. It worked quite well for the first 11 months, but as of the 12th month it has decided to die. It does not recognize or connect to any network whatsoever. All my other devices and WiFi adapters are fine. This device is badly made probably with planned obsolescence built into it. Not worth the money. Please dont make the same mistake as me. I have now bought a net gear Ac1900 which works instantly.

This is the first negative review I think I ever given, but this product is totally rubbish. The tew-809ub connected to a high performance PC via USB 3(windows 10) is achieving 1 to 3 Mbps (bits per sec) max (latest windows and TRENDNet drivers and updates). The laptop sitting next to me on the same network / router is getting 100 Mbps. So this device has transported me back 20 years in terms of internet performance. I wanted a wifi adapter not a time machine.Would not recommend this to my worst enemy. Please avoid.

The package was fine but one of the antennas was broken. Rest of the device works as expected.
