Essential Tool for Optimal 3D Printing
I recently purchased the Sovol SH01 Filament Dryer to address moisture issues affecting my 3D printing projects. This device has proven to be indispensable in maintaining filament quality and ensuring consistent print results. ✔️ Key Benefits: Effective Moisture Removal: The Sovol SH01 excels at eliminating moisture from filament spools, preventing common issues like stringing, bubbling, and poor layer adhesion caused by damp filament. User-Friendly Interface: The dryer features an intuitive control panel, allowing me to easily set the desired temperature and drying time based on the filament type. Versatile Compatibility: With adjustable temperature settings, it accommodates various filament materials, including PLA, ABS, PETG, and more, ensuring optimal drying conditions for each type. Continuous Drying Function: The option for continuous drying is particularly useful for extended printing sessions, keeping the filament in optimal condition throughout the process. ❌ Areas for Improvement: Size Considerations: While the dryer accommodates standard filament spools comfortably, larger or wider spools may not fit as easily. It's advisable to check the dimensions before purchasing. 💡 Final Thoughts: The Sovol SH01 Filament Dryer has become an essential part of my 3D printing setup. By effectively removing moisture from filaments, it ensures smoother printing experiences and higher-quality results. Despite minor size limitations, its performance and ease of use make it a worthwhile investment for any serious 3D printing enthusiast. ✔ Best For: 3D printing users seeking to improve print quality by maintaining dry filament. ❌ Not Ideal For: Those using non-standard or oversized filament spools without verifying compatibility. 👉 Overall: 5/5 – A must-have tool for achieving consistent and high-quality 3D prints.

Stylish, Compact and Useful Filament Dryer
The Sovol filament dryer never fails to please! The design is very stylish and does not look industrial! I was drawn to this brand after reading many positive reviews from other owners. I initially bought one earlier last in 2024 and after being impressed with how it performed I decide to buy my second dryer. The price has always been marketed right and I believe it is a value for money product. The temperature range allows for heating at 40c to 50c. You can load two spools of filament rolls if they have a diameter of 60mm, if the diameter is bigger the dryer will only accommodate one filament spool! To reduce stringing, moisture levels and bed adhesion problems. I use the digital program to set the drying time and I also maintain drying during the printing process for better print results. The simplistic functionality of the dryer makes it user friendly and the clear bright LCD helps maintain visual awareness of progress from a distance. The motor sound recorded at an average of 49db. When the printers are running the fan noise is not noticeable. I particularly like the 4 filament outlet positions, this one a key point in my consideration for purchase. Overall this has been a really functional and cost effective addition to my stock and I am a very happy owner!

Good drier.
Good drier. Could do with a means to provide an air gap in the lid for drying effectively and a stand as the base gets hot. Both of these things can be printed for it.

Works well for drying filament, so good I bought a second one
This is a neat little unit that does exactly what it promises. I had no trouble fitting two standard 1kg spools inside, and it runs quietly in the background without any annoying fan noise or hums. The build quality feels solid, especially for the price & nothing feels flimsy or cheap. The digital display is pretty basic, it shows humidity and the remaining drying time, but not much else. That said, it does the job, and at this price point, I wasn’t expecting anything too advanced. One small gripe: the instructions recommend propping the lid slightly open during drying to let moisture escape, but there’s no built-in way to do this securely. You have to balance the lid on the edge of the clips, which feels like a bit of an afterthought. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of. All in all, it does exactly what I need it to - dries filament well, feels sturdy, and doesn’t break the bank which have all helped with the stringing and adhesion problems I was having. I’ve already ordered another one.

The Sovol SH01 Filament Dehydrator Spool Holder
My first dryer from Sovol needed a new fan, it was noisy. They replaced it without a quibble. That dryer last exactly two years. It did a fantastic job of drying filament so I bought another. I found out that the old dryer was fixable, it just needed a new heater element. Fully expecting to pay for a replacement Sovol sent out a replacement part free of charge, one year after the guarantee ran out. I will always buy from Sovol including its filament because when you find a good customer-oriented company you would be silly to stop. As for the running of the dryer. It has three set temperatures. 40c/45c/50c. When drying filament you don't want it to dry too fast as the outside of the reel will be dry but the inside might still be damp. So, I recommend the slow burn. It has a timer which runs incrementally from 6 hours to 12. After the timer stops the dryer switches off. However, yes there is a however. The aforementioned heater element will probably last longer if you keep the dryer's feet off the table. There is a stand that fits the sovol on Thingiverse that does the job of providing good underside ventilation. I highly recommend the Sovol SH01 Filament Dehydrator Spool Holder.

I am a firm believer that an active filament dryer is one of the best investments 3D printer owners can make. Prior to this purchase I already owned and used both the Sunlu and the eSun filament dryers which have paid for themselves over and over with the PolyMaker filment I've preferred. But, neither of these dryers could handle a new favorite filament brand, FilamentPM. Most of the FilamentPM PLA spools are a massive 88mm wide, whic is way too wide for either the Sunlu or the eSun dryers. I was prepared to purchase a passive 2 spool drying system when I stumbled upon the new Sovol SH01, which was described as able to handle two PolyMaker spools or 1 extra wide spool like that of the FilamentPM. It was a new product and not yet in stock at Amazon; but, it looked like the perfection solution for my needs so I felt it was worth the wait to go ahead and order it. I am very happy I did. First, it arrived a week earlier than expected. That was a plus. Secondly, as the images attest, it really can handle the super wide FilamentPM spool! And, more importantly, it works. The display is the biggest and best of the three dryers I own. The images were taken just after starting the drying process. The ambient temperature was 27C and the humidity was 45%. The target temperature of 40C was hit within 17 minutes and the humidity settled to around 29% within 1/2 hour. There are two other features worth mentioning. 1. it uses a small fan. 2. It has features that make it a good passive moisture protection system lacking in the other dryers I own. The fan's speed seems to vary to control the environment and is not entirely silent. It doesn't bother me; but, those most sensitive to noises might find it a bit annoying. This is my first Sovol product. I am impressed that they have paid such careful attention to buttoning down the box with latches and plugs to make it air tight as a passive moisture protection system for storing filament after drying. Even the power plug opening has a cover that keeps that air tight! That's paying attention to detail! I plan to purchase more and it is the dryer that I recommend as the best value right now.

I've been looking at various filament dryers for quite a while (including on Aliexpress) and this seems to be the best thing going for what you get. There are several less expensive dryer boxes that will dry one roll at a time, but this is the only one that I've seen that will do two at a time (or one really large roll). Unlike most of the others, this unit also has a seal that the lid sits in, clasps to hold the lid closed, an internal fan, and shows the humidity (not just temperature). I have seen people modify other dryers to add some of these features, but after the trouble and cost of the modifications those boxes still only hold one roll at a time. This is still more economical than buying two un-modified single roll dryers. This dryer preforms quite well and has brought some life back into some of my older rolls of filament. Since this has a proper seal it will also keep a roll dry even when it's done. I now have a muti-filament (3) 3D printer and I have ordered a second dryer so I can keep three rolls plus a spare dry all the time while printing. You can set 3 different temperatures (40C, 45C, & 50C) and drying time from 6 to 12 hours. The box heats well and seems quite stable, and you can really only hear the fan when the lid is open (will update if it gets noisy). There are touch sensors for the three buttons on the front, and the backlit display is very legible. The external power supply gets warm but not hot and I've had it running for days without any issues so far. It has two filament holes on the top of the lid, with seals, and a seal for the power plug on the back. The only thing that would have been nice is extra filament holes on the back (or front) for alternative routing options. I'm quite happy so far and would recommend this over the single roll dryers (even if you only really need it for one roll at a time) 5 star product 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I purchased this to be able to dry 2 rolls of filament for my 3D printers. This is especially important for the PETG that I use as well as the PLA, I do not use ABS. As stated in the "About this Item" information on the Amazon site, it cycles back and forth between the Temp/Humidity and drying time. The first time that I turned this on I was quite concerned because I could smell the electrical smell. I turned it off and checked it out to make certain it was ok. I think that it was just getting rid of that "new" smell. I turned it on again and programmed it for 6 hours of drying time. The "Work" was showing on the unit, but it shut off after 6 minutes. So I tried it again, and it seems to be working ok now. There is just a simple small piece of paper for the instructions. Most filament dryers are fairly intuitive and this is one pretty ease to understand as well. You are able to use the filament direct from the dryer to your 3D printer, but I don't do that. The unit is lightweight coming in a 3.65 lbs. I had nice sized footprint 9.69x 6.89 x 9.53". I have the white model and I feel it looks nice. I'm pretty happy with this purchase. I hadn't thought of placing the desiccants into the dryer with the filament. I like that idea as well. When the time is completed, it emits a loud beep telling you it is done. That is a nice feature as well. It is extremely quiet and I don't even notice it is on.
