Great product
Got these for after CMC trapeziectomy surgery to wear under splint. Love the thumb coverage- they fit well and protect from rubbing. Comfortable thickness- will be ordering more

Great replacement for post-surgery splinting
My mom major had surgery on her hand. Of course they gave her only one of these for under her splint that she had to wear for many weeks. Being that they are white and she was already struggling to eat while unable to bend her fingers, it got messy quickly. It would be easier for her to dig her way to the center of the Earth with only her one useful hand than to get replacement ones from the doctor or therapist, so to Amazon I went because where else to you buy something like this when you dont have a nearby medical supply store? They were inexpensive and exactly what she needed. I did buy all white because she had fresh wounds and I was hesitant about giving her anything with dye, but now that the incision is healed, I will order black ones too because the white definitely show every stain. It was helpful to soak them in hot water with a dissolved denture tablet to clean and disinfect them. Theyre soft, stretchy, and reasonably durable. Also identical to the one they put on her during the surgery, except probably a fraction of what they charged insurance for that one! Lol

Life saver!
These hand sleeves are really great. They made wearing a forearm splint so much more comfortable! I was even able to put one over the outside of the splint to protect my clothing from the Velcro straps of the splint. The sleeves are lightweight and stretchy. You can even wash them and reuse.

More comfortable under a wrist brace
The orthopedic doctor supplied me with only one liner when he fitted my brace: a simple knit tube with a hole cut out for my thumb, and a smaller tube for my thumb. I did not like the idea of wearing the same liner 24/7 for a month or more, so I purchased these cotton arm socks. They have been great. They came in a package of 10, so I can change the liner daily and not have to wash them every day. They keep the brace from chafing my skin and are very soft and comfortable. I was a little worried about the seam along the thumb, but I don't notice it at all. So far, I have hand washed them once, and they held up pretty well. That said, the top and bottom edges are raw (unhemmed), and by the second wearing, they are beginning to fray and develop small runs at the bottom edge. ( Possibly the top edge also, but I folded that in because my hands are small, so the top edge is less exposed than the bottom edge near the elbow.) They are clearly not intended to be used over and over, and I would not risk washing them in the washing machine. But if you hand wash them gently and let them hang dry, you should be able to get several wearings out of each arm sock.

Great post surgery option!
I decided to try these after my second hand/thumb surgery. My occupational therapist had given me the sleeve plus a “thumb sock” for me to use in the past. This combo works but often slips and leaves uncovered areas. This is a great alternative! All one piece and just thick enough that it feels protective. A few things to know. Yes, they unravel. This is not a permanent garment. One pack will serve me well for several months of use during my recovery (with hand washing). The out of the package length is long enough in the hand and thumb that it accommodate most hands. The material cuts easily with scissors for you to customize the length you need. Consider how much swelling you’re dealing with when selecting a size. I couldn’t use these immediately after surgery because they were too tight due to swelling. Now that the swelling has gone down I find them to be a great tool. Maybe you need to consider sizing up? I ordered medium and waited until I could use them.

Good quality, bad fit
Used these under my removable cast and had to cut the thumb slots off entirely because they were digging into my hand (even though I bought the largest size possible). For reference I'm 6'1" and 195 lbs. and the large was too small for me. They were thick and comfortable, though, once I did a lot of trimming. Giving this 3 stars since the quality was fine and it may work for some, but the fit didn't work for me (I ended up buying stockinette tubing to cut on my own).

Protects your skin
These really came in handy after my wrist surgery. The P.A. rewrapped my arm really poorly after stitch removal and it was causing a lot of pain. She also switched the cast padding with krinkle gauze. My arm skin reacted really poorly to the scratchy krinkle gauze - it became so bumpy and inflamed. Also, since she removed the cast padding, which my splint was molded around, my wrist and arm were really unstable in there and I was having alot of pain for the first time after surgery. It was the weekend and they couldn't help so I bought my own cast padding and just rewrapped my arm the same way it had been after surgery. This helped a lot with both the instability and skin. But my skin was already so bumpy and inflamed after the krinkle gauze that it was very easily irritated and wasn't healing well. I finally tried this sleeve and there was a lot of relief and also minimized further irritation so my skin could finally start healing. As a tip, you might want to cut a little slit between the thumb and the main part if it feels a little restrictive. I also cut some length at the top and the thumb to give my fingers more mobility. But you can easily mod it for your needs. I also bought in black in same size but it wasn't as comfortable as the white. The fabric was thicker and felt a little more compression. It could be good for different purposes but for me, the white was more comfortable. If you need to be in a splint for a long time, I would recommend using both this product and a thin cotton liner glove. Since the splint was keeping my fingers somewhat gathered and I couldn't wash my hand, it was getting a bit moist and grimy between my fingers. The gloves kept my fingers nice and dry.
