There is separate tank for detergent **Q: What solution is recommended for this steam mop? I have tile that has grime on it.** A: They sell a solution for this mop however, it is not necessary. I simply clean my floors with the steam only for the most part but for really dirty areas I will spray them with ammonia (section by section) and them use the steam mop. We considered a couple of things when choosing the replacement: 1. We very rarely utilized the hand-held steamer configuration. 2. The weight. The PurSteam is significantly lighter than the 2 in 1.Pros: Very Simple: fill with water/cleaning solution and turn on and cleans more rooms per fill-up vs the Shark 2 in 1 I previously owned.Cons: The trigger mechanism does fatigue your hand, so if you have hand muscle/joint issues, this may affect your experience. Minus 1 star for Ease to use. The cord is noticeably shorter than my previous Shark 2 in 1. I recently had tenants at my property who I feel never clean the floors. If you were to walk barefoot on my laminate floors you would get this disgusting black residue on your feet. After one use in one room you can see it picked up a lot of filth that a lot of the other push mops do not remove. For the price it is extremely reasonable and does a very good job cleaning the floors. I did have issues in the beginning with the trigger mechanism to activate the floor cleaner. It was my own fault of course as I was not paying attention as I attached to the handle I had It twisted to one side. However, I was able to fix it by standing on the mop head gently pulling up and the handle was able to be removed. I fixed the positioning and the trigger mechanism works wonderfully now. I would truly give this a five-star review. The only downside that I have and it's just a personal preference is that I have to plug it in for every single room that I need to go to. However, it is exceptionally fast. It stays true to its word. It does heat and steam in about 30 to 45 seconds. I think the only issue would be the height. It's just not meant for a guy who's 6 ft tall. I still have to kind of hobble over.
