Non reader now a reader!
Bought for my non reading 9 year old for Christmas. It was devoured in less than a day and has been re read twice. Have ordered the next few as they seemed to have worked magic. They were easy to access, exciting, tense and well written. Would highly recommend.

Point Blanc: Graphic Novel
This is the second Alex Rider book, following on from “Stormbreaker.” My son loves graphic novels and I have found they are a great way to get him interested in an author or series, as he often goes on to read the novel after he has read the graphic version. However, this is a great read in its own right – the artwork is excellent and the storyline faithful to the original. As a parent, and a reading mentor, I am in favour of any books which get children reading for fun. If graphic novels engage children - particularly reluctant readers - and allow them to experience the joy of reading, then I am totally in favour.

Two thumbs up from our kids.
My son loved this series of books. Comics and graphic novels are a fab way for engaging boys in reading at an early age.

Alex Rider strikes again!
This was a most interesting, well-told and well-drawn story. It's only the second of the series I've seen (the other being STORMBREAKER, the original). Of course, I shouldn't have been surprised by the essentially unrealistic premise or the classic monologuing (sp.?) of the mad villain, but I was pleasantly surprised by the other twists and turns of the plot (which are, no pun intended, chilling in various ways). Alex nearly buys the farm more than once (one of the times being when he finds himself overmatched as a martial artist by the chief villainess), but it's good to have good friends around at such times."Most schoolboys dream of being a spy. Alex is a spy who dreams of being a schoolboy." Well said, Mr. Stuffy MI6 Director. :) And we find out by the end just how true that is - Alex comes to a turning point in his mind about his destiny, however long that state of mind lasts.

Xenophobic but fun
My son loves these. I love him reading. Generally though the series villainizes people from other countries and folks with less than traditional gender expression. I personally dislike that. But obviously I care more at the moment about my son reading. I am counting on his life and other sources to give him an analysis.
