For those with mobility issues, the chair's function can provide assistance when getting a bath. It provides assistance in entering and exiting a bathtub without having to climb over the tub's side and sitting in the tub from a standing position. The chair can be positioned so that the attached wings are level with the sides of the tub permitting someone to sit on one wing and then slide over to the seat, and then lowering into the bathwater by use of the handheld controller. When the bath is complete, the chair lifts the person to the height of the tub's sides and then the person can exit the tub by sliding from the chair's seat onto a wing and then standing on the floor. Something to keep in mind is where the bathtub is situated in proximity to fixtures in the bathroom. If it is very close to a fixture, a person might have difficulty sitting on the wing of the chair and getting his/her legs over the side of the tub when sliding on/off the chair's seat. (The chair is positioned in about the center of the tub.) The chair is somewhat weighty, but that helps provide stability along with the suction cup feet. The controller is rechargeable and easy to use. The chair is a good item to have when mobility issues make getting a bath difficult, providing a solution. ***UPDATE*** The chair was useful when a family member required assistance getting up from the floor away from the bathroom. The chair was placed next to the family member and the chair's seat was positioned at the lowest level. The family member was able to slide onto the seat and raised up to a sitting position, via the handheld controller, to standard chair height, and then able to stand. This came in handy a couple of times.

Works very well. As a safety feature, chair does not lower you into the tub unless it has enough charge to lift you back up. Great for my husband who prefers baths to showers.

I contacted the manufacturer of the defective bath lift to request a refund. The manufacturer said I needed to contact Amazon since it was purchased via Amazon. I contacted Amazon and was told the 30 day return window was closed. I purchased the bath lift in September 2023 for my 92 year old, disabled mother. 55 days ago! THE BATH LIFT IS DEFECTIVE! The scissor lift mechanism on one side does not function properly. This morning one side started going down at a different rate than the other. Then a piece of the seat surface on the defective side broke! Thankfully my mother was not injured. Amazon suggested I re-contact the manufacturer since the product is within the 5 year warranty. As of date,I have not heard back from them. ***NOTE: I HEARD BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURER! THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING! THE MANUFACTURER TOLD ME TO RE-CONTACT AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE TO GET AN AUTHORIZATION CODE FOR A REFUND. SINCE I PURCHASED THROUGH AMAZON AND NOT THE MANUFACTURER--THE MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WOULD ISSUE THE REFUND TO AMAZON AND THEN AMAZON SHOULD REFUND ME. I CONTACTED AMAZON TO GET THE REFUND RMA #. THE AMAZON REP. SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT AN RMA NUMBER WAS AND THAT THERE WAS NO WAY TO GIVE ME A REFUND BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY TRASHED THE DEFECTIVE BATH LIFT. I EXPLAINED TO THE AMAZON REP. THAT THE MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WOULD ISSUE A REFUND-- EVEN THOUGH I HAD GOTTEN RID OF THE DEFECTIVE BATH LIFT. MANUFACTURER SAID NO WORRIES. AMAZON SAID NO WAY. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. I WAS THEN TRANSFERRED AND SPOKE TO A MEMBER OF THE AMAZON LEADERSHIP TEAM. THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO REVIEW THE EMAILS THAT I HAD SENT TO AMAZON, INCLUDING PHOTOS. I WAS PUT ON HOLD WHILE THEY REVIEWED EVERYTHING. THE AMAZON LEADERSHIP TEAM MEMBER THEN CAME BACK ON THE LINE AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD ISSUE THE REFUND! LONG STORY SHORT, I GOT THE REFUND WITHIN 2 DAYS! LESSON HERE: ESCALATE UP TO TALK TO AN AMAZON LEADERSHIP TEAM MEMBER FOR SUPPORT AND HELP.

After a few negative reviews regarding battery life, I was hesitant to purchase this Bath Lift Chair. However, I'm so glad I followed my instincts and bought it anyway. I LOVE this chair. I can now safely enjoy long relaxing baths again. I've had no problems with the battery which will not lower the chair into the tub unless it has enough power to lift it back up. It also lifts the chair high enough for me to stand up. That of course depends on the user's height. I'm so glad I purchased it and hope it works well for others.

Oh my what a wonderful product! I have wanted to take a bath for over 7 months but did not have the strength to sit in the tub. By chance I found this device. Easy to put together (watch video on installing suction cups). Works easily. No issues. With cold weather here I’m warming up in my jacuzzi.

PRODUCT itself gets 5 stars in comparison with other lift chair *online info*. But giving it a 4 to get Amazon’s attention about possibly a return and concern about 3rd party vendor technician customer service. Product itself maybe a 5 based on what appears to be better base up/down construction but still all plastic but w/a metal? tube horizontal cross bar. AMAZON delivery gets a 5. NEW OR RETURNED? For $500, I expected a never-opened box. Felt the base raising construction and the *removable back* once lowered in bath were a value that other products didn’t seem to have/or mention online. The product delivered appears to have been a returned item. Don’t know if that’s from 3rd party vendor or Amazon. Product from 3rd party vender who offers a multitude of BRANDS each with an additional variety of many products from those brands. Makes me a bit leery about future customer relationship - KNOWING this actual product. Appears to be a return? rather than brand new because of following FLAGS, but that’s only on MY delivered product: One cover edge has tape already cut with no effort made to retape. Opposite edge of cover has tape cut as well, but arrived badly wrinkled during re-application. Appears that former purchaser had trouble replacing product back into pre-shaped cardboard form at one end, squashing that inner cardboard form after no success. Instructions and other paper randomly added back into box like a last minute thing. [like oops here’s another thing] Smaller box included with charging cable obviously not replaced where it could have gone - cover partly open, small box having dents from loosely added in. RE INSTRUCTIONS Instructions for assembly clear, but pointed out that lithium battery comes uncharged, so charge for 1st time overnight upon receipt. It came *already charged* which is a big give-away that it could be a return. LITHIUM BATTERY Note that packaged info says lithium battery life affected by weight of person using it. Doesn’t offer sample weight for an expected given duration of battery life. Does suggest you will have to recharge after about every 5 used do requires pre-planning if it actually takes a minimum of 2-3 hrs to recharge. AUTHORIZED DEALER Package info says that replacing battery to be done only by *authorized repair place*, but no list of who/where that might be. If shipped for repair, one customer review mentions $50+ for such heavy parcel shipping to authorized dealer . After 30 days for outright return (unused) to Amazon, you are on your own re actual warranty. [but this might be the case for any brand] I think it also mentioned typical battery life time NOT 5 years ??? NOT covered by warranty. Not clear to me about what is actually covered. Promo AND instruction pack says there’s a 5 year warranty, but no info on how you activate the warranty. Usually you need to contact brand with date of purchase and KEEP your purchase receipt. Battery NOT covered. 3RD PARTY CUSTOMER SERVICE PRIOR TO PURCHASE (not Amazon or actual Drive brand buy 3rd party vendor) Based on finding out there was a 3rd party vendor, I called the phone number found in info included on Amazon product info section. Called PRIOR to purchase. Very congenial contact person redirected me to a technician at 3rd party vendor who sounded “speed too thin” repeatedly saying “Read the instructions included with product” when asked about something - even after I told him I was looking to BUY product and had questions to find out if it was what I needed - SO did not have instructions at this time. Felt like poor customer service. The question was about the back being removable once seat is in lowest down position under water (which was a major point in product’s favor because extending back horizontally would take up equivalent of “torso-length” so prevent stretching out legs in bath. Guy kept insisting you could not remove it - whereas promo online info says you can “for a more comfortable position against the back of the tub” remove it while under water. In fact, back stays stiffly upright until it is completely lowered and you take your finger off the down-button. Then it flexibly tilts backward to rest against the tub’s back wall (or could be flat if tub was huge enough). It goes back to stiffly upright when you push yellow up-button before it starts going up. NOTE: If you have an older bathtub having curves formed inward from sides and back at bottom, you need to subtract the equivalent horizontal curve-length from your available distance to estimate product actually fitting in tub since the supporting BASE is a flat sided rectangle and package info specifically states base MUST lie flat side bottom of tub. This means you lose some length actually sitting in tub AND might not actually be able to stretch out your legs. You’d be bathing with your knees bent or resting them up on the tub front rim both upright and if you wanted to slide down flat. This is based on your STYLE/Period of tub. (like normal small house 1950s to year? construction) The pair of plastic “wings” that rest on the top edge of tub (to make transferring off seat) do not appear to be sufficiently thick to be long- lasting - they have “give” when weight just by hand-test is on them even with support by resting on the tub’s side wall top edge. [this might be true for all the brands] And the HINGE (also plastic) attaching wings to chair seems slight in relationship to the “give” in plastic wing that will result while transferring in/out of tub. [likely true for all the plastic brands] Haven’t looked close enough to estimate “life span” or if they are replaceable. ALSO consider how close your tub accessible outer wall is to a fixed other item adjacent to tub in the bathroom. [a number of comments mention this] Having curves in floor area of actual tub pushes base of lift fire ward more than you might think. If already the math you’ve done means your legs will not stretch all the way forward in the tub, THEN any unmovable object close to the accessible side of the tub will mean when you are actually positioning on or off chair, you will have to keep legs KNEES BENT to raise high enough up to maneuver minimal space left from actual chair being further forward than you are “guessing”. THAT said: these considerations look like they apply to all brands vs things you never noticed before re the interior shape of your tub. Do NOT make horizontal measurements using the top of the tub, BUT at the inner FLOOR of the tub by possible marking where any curvature STOPS and becomes FLAT TUB FLOOR. ALSO, 2-1/2“ measurement above tub’s interior floor turns out to be significant in terms of available depth of water. IF person is used to soaking under water especially already resting feet on forward tub top edge, with lift chair you’d need a really deep and long tub top edge achieve soaking - the chair definitely would get you IN to wash up but remember that the base length never changes and in older standard tubs there’s the likelihood the person’s legs will not have room to stretch out, so knees bent YES! You can more easily get into and out of tub using any lift chair, but a lesson observed is if you have an older model tub, you can bathe but possibly no longer be able to be completely covered in warm water. Who thinks ahead that seemingly only a few inches in height of tub wall could make a radical difference in relation to water depth high enough to totally soak. But having said all this, if you look at the support construction on many of the less expensive chairs, this Drive model appears to have extra body-weight support (one horizontal metal tube between the plastic “legs” which is a good thing. This appears to add sturdiness. But regarding product *weight* itself, the back section vs the base section seem heavy even tho listed as 23-1/2 lbs total which seems not that much. Once assembled, you need to lift it from the BOTTOM to place in tub because the chair back is attached by plastic hooks that might be a weaker point. So that means assistant needs to bend over tub in/out process each time. And NOTE even though you technically can remove the back while underwater, you will need to practice OUT of water because the back has plastic hooks that need to tip at a certain angle to fit just right into the base and even trying it on dry land, seems it might need practice before you’d try it when you are no longer seeing underwater, then not doing it straight on re your own position while having a person sitting on seat. Instructions say do not leave lift in water, rinse clean after each use and dry completely. [regularly PERIODICALLY CLEAN product when taken out of tub] Haven’t tried to fold it yet with back attached, came in box unfolded as 2 separate sections. It looks like even though the extra feature that you can take back off while under water The controller does hook onto either outside edge of back, but at shoulder height, so not the best position for the person once seated. And if floated, I wonder if it could float around the back and become potentially unreachable - so looking into one of those shower hooks that suction to tile wall that might be something to consider. Based on size of tub, I am still debating whether it will work with a 1930-1950’s length/height tub so have NOT actually done a tub/water test do that I can return it. BUT out of box it looks like a workable product but tub size critical - and this is true for ALL the products made of plastic shown on Amazon. This one was the only plastic one as far as I could see that at least added the horizontal tube to add possible structural improvement. [There was one shown that seemed to be ?metal at higher wait and more cost but if you are sharing the tub with another person it’s weight would be a consideration. ]

To Start, when i tried to put the seat pad on, one of the plugs would not fit in the hole. The suction cups would not come off the tub. Finally, the headrest would not move forward or backward, and i couldn't remove the headrest.

This is easier to pick up and clean compared to the ones with a round bottom. Imo
