These pads are on par with 187s, even Old Bones pads. I felt my knees were a lot more secured with these on. I loved that there was a thick cushion pad right above the knee, a place where impact hits tend to be common for us, but most pads skimp on that area. This made the pad sit more secure, and helped keep it from sliding. The straps are high quality material including great velcro. The pads have the ability to be strapped on behind the knee and then with two other individual straps over top, or keep the knee straps on place and slide them on and off, then strapping the individual straps over top. Whatever way, it's comfortable, which is greatly important when wearing pads for hours at a time. We all agreed we felt a lot more secure with these pads, and after using them for four months straight I can say everything about is pad is fantastic.
