We took photos of how we broke the 5lb bag down into more manageable packs. We ended up using 4 of the “Quart” size bags (they are completely full!), and the few leftover were put into a “Sandwich” size bag. In case it helps you - we used the Ziploc QT size with the “sliders” to make it easier for our kids to be able to grab a couple out to eat, or give to the birds. We have had trouble with the regular Ziploc bags in the past. Issues with being able to close them when they’re really full to the kids not noticing the tops weren’t completely closed. Ending up with a counter & floor full of nuts! So for us - the bags with the slider on top has been working. They store well, travel around the house well, & stay fresher longer. The nuts have no added salts, or flavors that makes them appropriate for kids, birds, & pet pigs alike! Happened to be the best price by the ounce that I could find too! Which was a little surprising - because while there was some shell dust in the bottom (almond nuts will & can break off little pieces of shell durning normal storage & subsequent movement), 1 loose almond nut, & 1 broken almond shell was all the “waste” there was in a 5lb bag. We actually ate the loose nut, & it was good! Considering the price we actually expected that the nuts would be in bad shape, or bad would be mixed with good, and at least a pound of broken shells & nuts like we have gotten from other producers. We now have a go to for at least our birds almond treats, and may try out some of their other bulk products in the future! Our bids (and kids) have absolutely been loving these almonds!! As a matter of a fact even our birds who have never had an almond are tearing them up! They are really fresh, & good! If I was just a little bit more selfish I would make some fresh Almond Butter! *Those with food allergies there was a warning that they are processed in a place where other nuts, & seeds are processed * Whether someone was looking for almonds for cooking, sharing, or using as parrot, or other pet treats we absolutely would, & DO Recommend this brand to friends, & family. & We hope our review is helpful to you!

All the backyard squirrels agree this is great stuff. I leave some out in the morning. I find my squirrels coming back and scratching on my screen door to ask for some more by the afternoon.

2nd time in a couple of years that I've bought these & both times they've been fresh, large & tasty. I buy them mostly for my bird & the price is right--at 1/day & stored in the freezer they last more than a year & I've even checked a couple after a year & they still taste reasonably fresh. They're mostly quite big, probably bigger than you'd get in a local store but at a much cheaper price though there are some smaller ones but not many. Overall, as long as the price remains very competitive I'll keep buying!

I'll cut to the chase; what I received was the lowest quality bulk almonds I have ever purchased. Countless empty shells mixed in with what (to me) looks like at least 30% bad almonds (see picture.) The per-pound price was the lowest I found on Amazon and now I can see why. Being that at least a full pound (maybe two) are empty shells and bad almonds it turns out these are the most expensive per-pound almonds on Amazon. You're basically paying for 5lbs but getting maybe 3lbs of useable product.

The first time I got this item It was almost completely damaged, it looked smashed like if a car ran over it , but Amazon customer servise fixed this issue for me , and I wanted to like it so I placed another order of it & hoped that it will arrive safely this time and it did :) . The bag is not damaged and the almonds not crushed inside it , there is some shells still but just some not much . The nut itself is good and fresh although there was few like 3 or four almonds that was rotten ! But I thraw them and the rest is fresh and delicious. The price is good too . Thx

My macaw loves cracking these shells to grab the almond treat. I usually stock up on Diamond brand 16oz packages when I can find them at the supermarket. I was running low & unable to find replacements at the store, so I tried these. Five lbs is more than I usually have at one time, but the zip-lock bag works well to seal the remainder after I place a "working amount" in a Tupperware style container. These almonds were roughly equivalent in price per unit & quality to the Diamond brand I've experienced.
