GEEKRIA 4.4mm Male to 2.5mm Balanced Female Headphones Adapter for 2.5mm 4-Pole Cable Connected to 4.4mm Player Device, Aluminum Alloy Conversion Audio Plug, Gold Plated

After buying two Fiio products with a balanced headphone output socket, I needed an adaptor. This Geekria one was not the cheapest but I could not be happier. It fits both Fiio devices (and the headphones) perfectly, the sound quality is great, and it looks like it has been made with care and quality. They even supplied a cute pouch to keep the adapter in. The finish is very good, it does not look or feel like a cheap mass produced product.

This adapter is designed for balanced stereo signals, however, it works just as well for connecting headsets and earphones with the TRRS combi (combined headphone and microphone) jack if you don't want to use a traditional TRRS splitter and have the microphone end flapping around doing nothing. I've spent too long getting frustrated looking for an adapter that works correctly with combi TRRS jacks. Then I found this one. The other adapters seem to have lousy placing for the ground contact meaning it struggles to make a good connection with TRRS jacks, and you have to have the 3.5mm jack hanging out slightly which gives you a poor mechanical connection meaning your 3.5mm jack could potentially just fall out, or become misaligned again ruining the audio quality. Because this is expecting a 4 pole (TRRS) jack for the balanced signal, it has correctly positioned contacts allowing solid connection both electrically and mechanically. I think the seller should consider marketing this little adapter as being useful in this secondary usage. I would've probably found it quicker. The adapter is about the same size as most of my other 3.5mm to 1/4 inch jack adapters and has an all-metal construction, featuring gold-plated contacts. Jack insertion is a little tough but it's the same force required as pretty much all my other adapters. I just wish there was a Right angle version for compactness.

Nice adapter, seems a decent build and quality for general use. If I’m honest after using it I do feel that the price doesn’t reflect the materials used so if you’re after high quality I would suggest you look elsewhere. If this were around £8 I’d say it was a good buy but at the price I paid I know I’d have got better for my money on AliExpress or Taoboa ... however ordering on there can take a long time to arrive...

Okay look.. I am using an AKG K712 Pro and HIFIMAN Sundara headphones.. Don't bother using them though.. YES it does increase volume which I know a lot of yee are looking for but please also understand that audio quality is taking a slight hit here.. NOT terrible but it is more than expected. The best way for me to describe this is....High notes are pushed back and compressed somewhat.. it's not like mmmmmmmmmmmaybe I might notice it.. NO.. you will.. It's Very Obvious yet it still sounds great.... But it's less HD-esc.... believe me... Don't bother.. I have these cans and I wanted more. I got less.. If you own Hifiman Sundara then get an actual true 4.4mm balanced cable and something like the IFI ZEN DAC V2!

Good solid adapter well made works a treat

Short review for GEEKRIA 4.4mm Male to 3.5mm Balanced Female Headphones Adapter. When using this adaptor it does not make a clean connection and if you touch it, it goes from getting output from both headphones to one or the other. Not an issue with the 3.5mm jack I'm plugging into the back of this adaptor as the headphones work fine when connected to an alternate 3.5mm port. Also, connecting 4.4mm headphones instead of using this adaptor work fine too. Complete waste of money but can't be bothered sending it back. Would NOT recommend.

Works perfectly!

Works just fine. I imagine some of the troubles others have had with similar items is that they're not four-pole (as needed for mic, left & right), but just three pole for stereo without a mic. Anyway, this works fine for 3.5mm cell phone headsets plugged into old cordless phone jacks of 2.5mm.

No fuss. Plugged-in and everything is alright. The adapter came in a neat pouch to keep your audio knickknacks.

This is, so far, the best 4.4mm to 3.5mm conversion gadget I own. I have extensively used a few other 4.4-3.5 conversion wire, but this specific solid adapter delivers the best sound quality. Perhaps it's due to the lack of wire media that caused certain signal communication degradation. Highly recommended!
