Yes, we had one of the original elements fail in about a year from installing the tankless heater, and the water was not as hot as we were used to it being. 30 minutes worth of swapping parts (15 of that spent figuring a way to get all the scale deposits out of the bottom of each "tube" before installing the new elements), and bamo - water hotness again! Well worth it.
