(yes, that is a lot because you can get quality-ish sets of up to 5 knives for less than that elsewhere) The handle is bigger than usual knives, let alone a normal 5 inch santoku knife but it can be used even when the hands are wet because it is textured, so it is good. If you have too small hands it might be hard to carry it around. I first had difficulties justifying the price (because as I see it, it is just a single knife) and the fact that it has a sheath did not do enough for me, although it is handy for transport and I am glad it is there (there is also a lock to prevent sliding). The stainless steel metal part looked like metal colored plastic at first so I thought the quality was off too, very unexpected of Oxo. However, after I use it, I was pleasantly surprised, when angled right, it cuts very well, fits to my hand despite being long and very comfortable to do work. Interesting enough and I do not know if this was intended, I almost cut myself a few times and knife did not cut my hand due to the angle. But when angled right, it is very sharp to cut the object. So that is amazing and unexpected for me. Great buy in my opinion.
