Great System
I will not pretend to know everything about camera/security systems. All I can do is compare what I have. Somehow I've ended up with 3 different systems in my house, lol. I have Eufy (my first system), Mother's Day my son bought me a blink set that included a doorbell cam, and then my daughter talked me into a ring doorbell after the blink finked out and would not connect to my wifi. I bought the Eufy almost 3 years ago when moving into our current home, I bought it based off reviews. Compared to blink, it's pricey, but wow is it worth it. After about a month, blink lost connection with my network and we tried forever to get it back. I could not get it, so I bought the Ring Camera doorbell (my daughter suggested it, but really I should have gotten a Eufy). Then somehow, we got the blink connected again, and during that time we hooked up the Ring doorbell. Then the power went out. blink and Ring go offline and I had to reconnect them again. This has happened more than once since installing them. However, Eufy, in the almost three years I've had it ALWAYS reconnects on its own. Not once have I had to reconnect the cameras. Also, the video quality is excellent, out of the three systems, Eufy is hands down the best video, especially for distance, it's so clear with no blur. Night vision is awesome as well. I get the notifications right away and when I go to the dashboard, it comes up quickly. I recently emailed Eufy to see what kind of solar panel I could attach to my driveway cam as it gets lots of action, and while the batteries last a long time, that one drains faster. I received a response right away with what was compatible, and after I got it, it was pretty easy to install. So out of the three systems I have, Eufy is number one hands down. Ring is good too, except going offline when disconnected is really irritating. blink, don't waste your money.

Solid 4K Security System – Powerful, Reliable, and Easy to Use
Everything about this Eufy camera system works exactly as described. Setup was fast and smooth—honestly not sure why some other reviews complain about it. I had zero issues getting all four cameras connected and up and running in no time. The new HomeBase with expandable storage is a major win. I installed a 5TB hard drive and it’s been working flawlessly—plenty of space for continuous recording without any subscription fees. The 4K video quality is excellent—crisp, clear, and detailed. I haven’t experienced any connection drops or lags, and the 8x digital zoom is surprisingly good—I can clearly read license plates from about 70 feet away. Color night vision works really well, too, giving you more detail than traditional infrared-only systems. AI features like facial and package recognition actually work well, and the system keeps improving over time. The only downside I’ve run into is the lack of finer notification control. I wish I could disable alerts for the indoor cameras (like when we’re home) but still keep them recording. Some sort of geofencing-based privacy mode would be amazing—have the indoor cameras stop monitoring when we’re home, and re-activate when we leave. The app itself is generally great—easy to view footage and manage alerts—but the way you reorder cameras is clunky and not intuitive at all. Eufy could definitely streamline the settings menus. Battery life is impressive and lives up to the claim, but for hard-to-reach areas (like under the eaves), I’d recommend adding a solar panel or wiring them in to avoid climbing up every few months. Also worth noting—it integrates well with Google Home, and I haven’t had a single issue using voice commands or live streaming to smart displays. Overall, this is an excellent system for the price—feature-rich, no monthly fees, and highly customizable. With a few software tweaks, it could easily be perfect.

The best on the market.
We first bought a competitors product and immediately returned it. What I like about the.Eufy system is that the camera quality is better and the night vision is better. Additionally, you don’t have to pay for storage. So many of the competitors trick you into thinking that until you get the product home. These were so easy to install and connect to my Wi-Fi. This week, when I was not home, I received an alert that someone was at my front door. The motion detection feature picked him up immediately and alerted me through the app. It was a delivery man, and I was able to communicate with him from another state to let him know where to leave a package. It was very easy to hear him an easy for him to hear me as well. There are just so many good features that you get with Eufy system versus the competitors that I would highly recommend this product! We have even purchased more for family members.

Very good security system, Could be the best, the app needs updates.
Was a little worried about purchasing this after some of the negative reviews came out about the end-to-end encryption on the live video streams and The fact that unsinking the camera removes the footage. However that seems to be fixed in this latest version. They work well as front door cameras for me in an apartment building. The 4K quality is reasonably good. I shoot with a lot of cameras so I was actually semi-impressed for the price how good the camera turned out to be. Granted I wish the infrared light was stronger so it would work in darker indoor spaces. I have them about 4 to 5 ft on either side of the door facing down at a 45° angle. If the lights aren't triggered in the hallway the infrared lights don't necessarily pick up anyone until they touch the door. Even if they sold an accessory like an IR light that was tied to the cameras it would help. Overall I like how the footage stays on the internal 4 TB hard drive I installed in the base station. I'm not sure I can really comment about the signal quality because my apartment is open concept so they have worked very well. The camera's battery life seems to work well. We will see how they hold up didn't want to bother getting the solar panel versions because I use them indoors. The facial detection works frighteningly and surprisingly well. I wish it had more functionality built into the app hopefully they will update this in the future, because it's kind of not very powerful in terms of the stuff you can do with it. It will recognize almost any face that's at 45° angle to the camera. It seems to have a little trouble if someone is profile but it's pretty close. I like how you can name, and assign tags for individuals. But sadly that's really all you can do with it. It's is very basic. There aren't many tags and there isn't really any functions tied to them in terms of notifications or triggers. For example I actually bought the cameras to make sure a certain person was not coming over unannounced. I was having an issue with this person and possibly considering a restraining order. I had hoped that using the facial recognition software I could set up an alert and actions specifically based on that person. Sadly the app doesn't really work like that. The alerts and actions are all the same and has no integration with the actual facial recognition other than telling you the name and the pre-selected category. I could see this is a very helpful tool for people who are considering restraining orders. Because you would be able to have documented evidence that someone showed up and you could have a custom notification sent to you immediately. So I'm sad it's not more of a feature. I'm also kind of sad that I couldn't do the reverse for my neighbors. I don't need the cameras being triggered or alerting me every time my neighbors leave the apartment. Especially if their face is recognized by the device. I get why the system functions the way it does. It's the simplest implementation of the facial recognition software which keeps the data processing down, and works ok as a novelty for basic family setups. But it would work way better with custom notifications and actions assignable to each person, And I think it could be easily added to the apps functionality. Overall I think it's one of the better security systems on the market since I don't have to sign up for some cloud service and share my data all over the web. I also imagine it's why they can implement high resolution 4K cameras easily because those cameras don't have to send all of the footage to a server far from your house. If I had to score it, I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. If they integrated the facial recognition into the app better it would be beyond five stars and miles above any other security system on the market.

Quality and No regrets
I’m an advid researcher when purchasing products, I want quality balanced with value and read tons of reviews. After several weeks of comparing DVR/NVR, cabled/ wireless and much more, I pulled the trigger on Eufy products including a doorbell and other cameras too. I went with this combo as I really liked the newer homebase 3 (all products connected to the base with ease including 200 series devices). Also after initial setup (plugged into router) you can make the base wirelessly connect to your home network (so base can be placed anywhere unlike a fixed solution). I purchased a SATA drive separately (higher capacity for less money) but it was easy to install and storage management system had a single button format tool (if needed). Mounting is very straightforward with ample angle adjustability and battery powered devices makes it so convenient as you could move them around in minutes if desired. Wireless coverage is outstanding and everything reached back to homebase connection on a large home through many walls and out to garage. Mobile phone app (free) is well designed with many additional feature I wasn’t expecting. My research paid off and even at a bit pricier solution, catch a sale and you will not be disappointed either.

Absolutely Useless Facial Recognition & Glaring Smart Home Limitations
I really wanted to like the Eufy HomeBase 3. On paper, it promises to be a powerful hub for Eufy’s security ecosystem—offering advanced AI features, expanded storage, and “smart” recognition. In practice, it’s a borderline disaster. Let’s start with the much-touted AI facial recognition. It is so bad that it borders on comedy. The system routinely misidentifies the hood of my car, shadows on the ground, and even the neighbor’s garbage can as “recognized” people--it usually thinks these people are me! It identifies most faces as me yet it regularly fails to recognize my face. Honestly, it would have a higher success rate if it just picked random names out of a hat. It’s useless as a security feature because the alerts are completely unreliable—and even worse, they’re constant. My phone now dings every time a tree rustles or a cloud passes overhead. Then there’s the lack of HomeKit support. Eufy has been promising deeper integration with Apple’s ecosystem for years now, and the HomeBase 3 does absolutely nothing to deliver on that front. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem and hoping this will work with HomeKit Secure Video or even basic Home app integration—don’t hold your breath. It’s essentially non-existent, and there’s no clear roadmap for future support. To top it all off, the HomeBase 3 only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which is absurd in 2025. This frequency band is slower, more congested, and increasingly unsupported by modern routers. I expect a security system hub—especially one advertising AI and video processing—to be compatible with 5 GHz networks. But no, you’re stuck throttling everything through an outdated connection. All in all, this feels like a product still in beta, not something ready for market. Eufy needs to go back to the drawing board on both the software and the hardware. Avoid the HomeBase 3 unless you enjoy being notified that your driveway is secretly a person and your actual family members are invisible. The cameras capture clear video, but they are only as good as their, which is, unforftunately., the Homebase. As much as it pains me to say it, if you care about facial recognition and reliable notifications, you are better spending a bit more money on a system that actually works. I am very disappointed in Eufy.

The motion detection does not work well
A few notes on my new Eufy. 1. The Eufy 3C camera has 4K high resolution images, which is higher than many big and small brand names'. 2. It connects to the HomeBase through WIFI so it can be installed at a further away location and still keeping a high resolution. 3. The installation is simple and straightforward. 4. The motion detection is inferiors. It uses the PIR motion sensor which senses magnetic wave generated by a hot object. The detection distance is limited. 5. The motion detection is slow. A person walking by the camera may not be captured in the video. 6. If you put you camera inside looking out a window, it does not detect any motion as the glass shield out the heat. Most cameras these days analyze the videos to detect motion. Any movement capturable by the camera can be detected. 7. The HomeBase3 storage is expandable to 16 TB but it only comes with a mere 16 GB. You are almost forced to spend additional money to add a harddisk.

Great quality cameras, solid app, some opportunities for improvement
I bought these a couple months ago to replace a set of Arlo cameras after getting annoyed that they started charging a monthly fee for their services. Eufy had what I wanted with a good quality resolution cameras, local storage, and a number of AI features. First, the good - - super easy setup - great quality camera resolution with enough settings (ie. Spotlight, night vision settings, activity zones, etc). The recording attached is from the middle of the night with only the camera spotlight providing the light, and it’s still good quality. - long battery life (after 2 months I still have 70%+ in all cameras, including some that record frequently - the local storage is great. Even with just the included storage, I have more than I need to record multiple months. When accessing old recordings, it’s super fast to pull them up and play them, which was an issue with some other camera sets I tried (like TP- Link Tapo cameras with onboard storage) - the app is easy to use and seems reliable - I have tested geolocation options which worked well, but also scheduled options and the camera accurately changes modes in both settings - No subscription fees! The areas for improvement: - the app doesn’t allow you to mix scheduling and geolocation modes, so if you wanted to put it on a schedule when you are Home, and arm all cameras when you are Away that’s not an option for you - the AI isnt great - while I like being able to name the people in footage, Eufy doesn’t often recognize them in the future. It’s not a big deal as the camera still recognizes its a Person, but just cannot tell me who without some time. Overall, I would still highly recommend these for someone looking for a subscription-free, high quality cameras set. Buy when they are on sale and save yourself $150-200 of the list price.
