Slightly larger than what I am used to... but the fish do not mind. giving this to the bluegills in my pond. since the drought last fall, and the cold months, I have felt bad for the fish in the pond and developed a routine.. now they feel me walking towards them and they line up for a snack. This works fine. But what is best, is the price of this food.

Too small not as described

I switched to this food from Microbe-Lift. This was mostly due to the fish being larger and eating more. When I first opened the bag, I thought the smell was awful. Months later, I still think the smell is awful. It is a lower quality than what I was feeding my koi before, but as far as nutritional content goes, it didn't seem like a huge drop-off. At first, my fish didn't really like this food. They would nibble on it a bit, but that was it. Normally they would churn the water eating. Over the course of a week or so, they took to this food, and eating habits returned to normal. They stayed perfectly healthy all summer and are now on the bottom of the pond for the winter. There was no drop off in the color of my koi. They stayed just as colorful on this food as on the microbe lift variety. It's a good buy if you need a good price on bulk food. Just give your fish a chance to take to it before you write it off as a bust.

I shared a photo of our pond to prove I have one. The fish declined my invitation to have their photo taken. We have ten koi of various ages and sizes. The largest are 18 inches long and terrify my bantam ducks so the usual pellet food from the pet store was no longer cutting it. I didn’t want anything huge though because we have three koi that are only 8 inches long and couldn’t swallow something the size of dog kibble. This food is about the size of a small pea and perfect. Koi love it and eat it as fast as I throw it in which means the ducks don’t manage to get it all. Highly recommend.

The box came torn and someone tried to tape it but you can see it was badly damaged. The bag inside was also ripped open and they didn't tape it so the pellets were spilled all over the box. I didn't think it was shipped out that way and most likely got damaged during shipping. I notified the seller anyway to let them know. I didn't expect anything but they sent me a new bag anyway. I have purchased many different brands for my koi but I think I am going to stick with this one from now on. The fish eat them, the price is right, service is great and that's all matter.
