Quantum Health Buzz Away Insect Repellent Citronella Spray, DEET Free, 6 oz

During my recent trip to the Philippines, I decided to purchase a mosquito repellent to avoid getting bitten. I have been using it for the past two days and I'm glad to say that I haven't noticed any mosquito bites on my legs and feet. It's a great relief since l had suffered from mosquito bites during my last trip and had to use Vicks to relieve the itchiness. This repellent not only works effectively but also has a pleasant fragrance. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is planning to travel to a place where mosquitoes are a common problem.

The problem was that my terrace was getting, disgusting, since several trees went down after some storms, the birds kept hanging out, messing, up my outside space. So I did some research, on how to, not hurt them, just to repel them. I read somewhere that they don’t like citronella. I have sensitive skin and had no intention to spray it on anyway, though I do like the scent. So, after cleaning the deck, I sprayed Buzz Away everywhere on the terrace, on the railing, the shelf, and even the screen door. And it works! It works better than those mean looking spikes too. My terrace is clean, and I noticed there’s no flying insects either. Now I do spray more Buzz Away after a rain. But my terrace is my space again. I’ll be buying more.

A new product we've tried for mozzie protection for skin only. Works pretty well, but not as effective as DEET-based sprays. Made the mistake of spraying it on clothing- it is oily and left stains on clothing which didn't wash out in one wash. Don't spray on clothes!!

Repels mosquitos and flesh flies

On a recent hike, as I started getting bitten up by mosquitoes, I pulled out this repellent spray from my backpack, completely forgetting how infuriating it was to use the last time. Whether it was a problem with this spray bottle unit or it's a general design flaw with these bottles, my irritability was through the roof as I struggled with getting the spray bottle to spray anything on me. I kept having to manually pull the nozzle up, as it was getting stuck, and more than half the time, depressing it didn't actually spray anything on me. All the while, I was continuing to get attacked by mosquitoes. But when I finally managed to get enough on me, the spray itself was quite effective at repelling mosquitoes for quite a few hours without reapplication.

He says I smell like a citronella candle. It does. He thinks he's getting bug protection by proximity. I really like it because it keeps the mosquitos away from me and other bugs so far. I'll continue buying this product.

This is a good product. I've already purchased 5 bottles for various vacations in the last 5+ years. If you miss applying it to a spot on your skin, mosquitos will find that spot and bite you there! Haha! A friend of mine thought the smell was too strong, but every time I smell it, it takes me back to the vacations I wore it on, so I really like it! Another thing is that you need to drink a lot of water when you use this thing because your liver or kidney can hurt a little when you use it. Your skin does absorb it into your system, and it is pretty strong stuff.

I went to the Philippines this past Dec/Jan to do some typhoon relief work. There were a lot of mosquitos and dengue is prevalent in the areas we were working in. I got bit a lot less than everyone else and I did not get dengue...when many other did. This DOES NOT PREVENT dengue. But I got bit less than others, which is a mix of factors. Granted we also slept in mosquito nets but I used this through out the day when working in the fields & rural areas. Actually, everyone used this. A circle of volunteers formed around me anytime I pulled it out. lol. It is not waterproof so I did have to constantly spray when I sweat a lot or it rained. But it smells a lot better than other repellents and did not irritate my skin. Definitely should have brought more than 2 bottles with me.
