What type of pepper is this, as in, bird's eye, cayenne, etc? Are they grown in Calabria?

It is a Calabrian chili pepper. They are grown in Calabria and are very good. Hot but flavorful. Not like crushed red pepper flavor. Better than that. Get the crushed version. It is like a paste. Don’t get the ones in vinegar.

Can you germinate the seeds on these?

I threw mine away because they were live bugs in them.

Has anyone tried growing peppers from the seeds?

I haven't tried by myself, but I've once seen a guy on the internet who tried to grow peppers from the dried ones bought from groceries. It's not the same product, but he had yield of roughly 0.2% that actually sprouted.

This is listed as a raw product. Would the seeds be viable if I wanted to try growing them?

If you want to add some heat to Italian food... here you go. Good taste, hot AF. You'll need to figure out a way to grind it into some sort of powder, because the peppers in whole form are overwhelming, but a pepper grinder works just fine.
