It Works for Me.
I'm giving this product five stars. Granted, it is kind of expensive but the 12oz. size works for me. I only need 1ounce of this to make my mushrooms and rice, so it does last quite awhile. It is loaded with flavor and I like the mix of different mushrooms. I'm sticking with this brand.

A good value
A very good product and provides excellent flavor when used as a seasoning. There is a generous amount in the container that should last a long time if the contents are used as a condiment.

I use them as seasoning.
I put them into the food processor with a few herbs and spices and pulse until they are very fine. This makes a great Umame seasoning. Soups, casseroles, stews or whatever. Even people who don't like mushrooms because of the texture are fine with this. There is no strong mushroom flavor. It's much cheaper than store bought versions and I can tailor the spices to my family's preferences. It really does add an extra depth of flavor to many dishes.

Absolutely Delicious and Incredibly Versatile — A Must-Have for Mushroom Lovers!
I recently picked up The Wild Mushroom Co. Dried Gourmet Mix European Mushrooms (12 oz / 340g), and I have to say, these mushrooms are fantastic. The quality and flavor are outstanding, and they’ve become a staple ingredient in my kitchen for a wide variety of dishes. First, the flavor is rich and earthy — exactly what you want from high-quality dried mushrooms. Rehydrated, they regain a perfect texture and an intense, savory aroma that adds depth to soups, sauces, risottos, pasta dishes, and even savory baked goods. Each type of mushroom in the mix contributes a slightly different flavor profile, which makes every dish taste more complex and gourmet. I also love how versatile they are. I’ve used them in everything from a creamy mushroom risotto to a simple sautéed mushroom side, and even sprinkled them over roasted vegetables for extra umami. They’re perfect for enhancing everyday meals or for making special dishes when I want something extra flavorful. The quantity and packaging are great too — 12 ounces gives you plenty to work with, and the mushrooms stay fresh and easy to store. A little goes a long way because the flavor is so concentrated. Overall, The Wild Mushroom Co. Dried Gourmet Mix is a kitchen must-have for anyone who enjoys cooking. It elevates dishes with ease, has amazing flavor, and is versatile enough to use in countless recipes. If you love mushrooms or want to add rich, gourmet flavors to your meals, this product is a perfect choice!

So delicious if you love wild mushrooms these are a must buy!
These are SO delicious! I used to be able to get these jumbo jars at our big box store but no longer. I was happy to find them on Amazon. A few go a long way to add depth of flavor to most any sauce where you use fresh mushrooms. These naturally contain grit and are very dry. I use my pressure cooker to rehydrate them or you could simmer on the stove top. I rinse them while still dry to remove as much grit as I can then into the pot and cover with water. I pressure cook for at least 30 minutes or simmer on the stovetop for at least an hour or until they are tender. Drain in a fine mesh strainer and keep the liquid to use as the base of your sauce. I then rinse the mushrooms again under running water to get the remainder of the grit out using my fingers to agitate them. They are then ready to go. Then I strain the liquid through a coffee filter so that it is perfectly clean. You now have wild mushrooms that will have you eating your sauce from the pot. Shallots, wine, butter, cream, fresh herbs and you have the star of the meal and your house will smell AMAZING. If you love mushrooms buy these now!

texture: tough, taste: bad, smell: rather off-putting
I followed the instructions exactly except for soaking them for 10 extra minutes because they were so tough after soaking the recommended period of time. Then I cooked them, and even after that some of the mushrooms couldn't be cut with a knife. I ordered this product as a replacement for one with a very similar name which has since gone off the market, and am very sorry. I gave that product 5 stars and am begrudging the one and only star I'm giving this one. (These mushrooms also had an off-putting smell...)
