PET King Brands Zymox Oratene Water Additive Enzymatic Brushless Oral Care, 4 Ounces

If you own a pet then you need this to help keep their teeth clean! My vet recommended it to me a couple of years ago & it’s made a huge difference in the health of their teeth. My vet said it helps stop plaque build up on their teeth & I believe him. Before I’d spend $800 per dog every year just to get their teeth cleaned, now they go every 18 months. Hey, if it saves me THAT much money then I’m happy to keep spending $18 every couple of months. Very easy product to use, just put it in their water, stir and it does the rest for you. There’s no smell. The dogs & even the cat don’t seem to know it’s in their water. So win, win!

If there are any pet owners who are concerned about dental hygiene for their pets but have trouble “brushing their teeth”, I would recommend this product. I’m a cat owner myself and because I do get concerned about my cat’s health, I try to keep up with all the necessaries. Since I’ve used this product my cat hasn’t had any bad reactions and I’ve gotten good results from the vet. I would definitely recommend it to others

I've been using Oratene's Drinking Water Additive for my 8 year old pit-mix for about 2 weeks now. I was drawn to this product because it appears to be the veterinary line produced by Biotene, which is a human mouthwash that I have sworn by for years. After trying another water additive a while back, I was reluctant to try any others. It had been minty flavored (not in itself a downside, except that I think my dog was opposed to the flavor) and it caused the water to foam. Suffice it to say, my pup wouldn't get NEAR that water. That was probably a year ago, and recently I decided to look for another product to hopefully help combat her bad breath. Her teeth are in great shape, and she has been given a Dentastix snack every night since she was a puppy, but all the same, her breath is pretty off-putting. It doesn't take much of the Oratene per bowl of water - so it feels like the 4 oz. bottle it will probably last a while, even with using it (*ahem* when I remember) in two separate bowls (I keep one with her food, and one in my bedroom so she can get a drink at night if she's thirsty). I was immediately pleased to discover that it does NOT make the water foam, nor does it have a smell. In fact, my pup doesn't seem to notice it's there at all, and she continues to drink from the bowls. I have seen some improvement in her breath, and I think I'll likely see more once I get better about putting the Oratene in her bedroom bowl as well - as she actually favors that bowl in general. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product, and I anticipate keeping it on hand at all times. I will update this review once I've been consistently putting the Oratene in -both- water bowls so I can give a better idea as to how effective it has been.

My vet suggested this when I asked about our Yorkies breath. We adopted her from ARF she was a little over a year old and hair and teeth were neglected. Her breath was so bad that just sitting in my lap it was so strong. I tried dog toothpaste to brush on the tartar and clean her teeth better, which her teeth looked better but it did not help her breath. Her vet suggested the Biotene and I said I would consider it, the vet said to be sure and give her fresh bowl of water each day and pump a couple of drops in it, that is was no flavor and my dog would not taste it. Well after a few days I looked for it here on amazon, I ordered, got fast shipping ( the price was less here than from vets office) I have been using it since. IT IS A WELCOME CHANGE! I noticed within a week that her breath was not near the strength is was before and after a few weeks she was down to what I call just plain doggie breath. THis was a much better alternative than putting her to sleep to have teeth cleaning considering I still brush her teeth periodically have her on better nutritional food and continue to use the biotene. I use it in her water twice week now. This little bottle will go a long way. It only takes a couple of drops. If you love your little dog like I love mine you will find this is well worth trying, it is safe, tastless in water and almost eliminates bad doggie breath.

I've waited six months to write this review to verify if it works or not and the results are impressive. My cat had a dental cleaning a few years ago and all the thick tartar build-up eventually returned so I decided to try this product. Bad breath was gone within a week and after three months there was about a 50% reduction in tartar. I decided to then buy Greenies Dental Treats for Cats to hopefully help scrape off the remaining tartar. The combination of using both has now removed 90% of the tartar after another three months. The redness and slight swelling of the gums has also disappeared. My cat even likes the taste of the water and seems to be drinking more water since using this additive. I use one pump for every two cups of water and try to change the water every morning. Wish I would have taken a before and after picture to show the improvement difference because the results are pretty amazing with no brushing of the teeth. Edit on 01/03/2014: A few months ago my cats stopped wanting to drink their water with this additive. I tried changing the water every day but it would still get slime build up in the bowl. I've since switched to Synergy Dental Fresh and they are drinking their water again and there has been no slime in the water. I'm not sure how effective Synergy Dental Fresh will be compared to this product.

This product knocked my socks off. It is no exaggeration when I say that we have tried everything in the last five years and this is the only product that works. We have a senior greyhound with terrible teeth, she has already had two dentals and due to health issues cannot have another one...... Due to the fact that we cannot put her under again, the teeth that she has have to stay with her. Her breath got to the point where it was unbearable to get within 1 foot of her and this is about the fourth fresh breath product I have tried in the last few years. Much to our surprise, the odor started to fade THE FIRST DAY we used it! It used to be so bad that I would have to air out our car after she came for a ride with us because of the bad odor in the car. We are into our third week of using it and are shocked by how well it works and what an amazing job it did on the mouth odor. The most important thing with this product is to be absolutely diligent and follow the instructions right down to the letter. Because she is not a big water drinker, and because she normally have to have a lot of water with her food to soften it, I add the enzyme to a bowl of water first and then put the food in so that she gets the “ Splashing on the teeth“ effect. It took me a little while to figure out the best way we could use it but it turned out to work out beautifully. Remember that this product only works if it’s splashes around in their mouth, so for us it worked out beautifully. It’s very rare nowadays to find a product that does what it claims to do, and this one is it. We couldn’t be more impressed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I knew before I bought this product that I needed to remove the carbon filter from my pet fountain or the filter would just remove all of the good stuff the dental additive puts in the water. What I didn’t know, is that this product has to be completely flushed and replaced daily and the fountain needs to be cleaned out. I have one cat who only likes to drink moving water, but fountains typically take 2 L of water which is about a week’s supply. They are also time consuming to take apart and clean out every nook and cranny. Therefore I tend to clean it every week or so and replace with fresh water. With my previous additive, this was no problem. However, I thought I would try this product when my regular one was out of stock. What a difference! And not in a good way. Within 2 to 3 days, the water fountain developed slimy black mold in every nook and cranny. I thought it was a fluke, but it happens EVERY time. I called customer service, and they confirmed that this product needs to be flushed out every 24-48 hours, and the fountain thoroughly cleaned. In fact, they told me they do NOT recommend this product to be used in fountains. I’m going back to OxyFresh.

I recently purchased the V-Oratene Drinking Water Additive for my dog, hoping it would help with his oral hygiene and bad breath. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to work as expected. I followed the instructions carefully, but I didn’t notice any improvement in his breath or overall dental health. While I like the idea of a simple water additive, it just didn’t have the desired effect on my dog. He still has the same level of bad breath, and I’m not sure if it helped with plaque or tartar either.

Product arrived in good time ahead of expected delivery date. Easy to use and my cat hasn't noticed any change in her drinking water. Her teeth look better - has helped with tartar build-up.

I mistakingly ordered the 4oz bottle instead of the 8oz. The 8 oz is actually cheaper. Good product otherwise. This would be my third order.
