Useful illustrations and diagrams. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well written book that guides you every step of the way to a new (old) way of living *by T***R on 18 July 2016* Having received this book last week, and initially being a little daunted by the size, I am absolutely hooked. The late, great Patrick Whitefield, has written this book in a way that makes a "new" concept understandable and achievable. He educates without bias and explains the more complicated theories and the simple processes in a consistent manner, which allows the information to be easily digested as you read. I have long been interested in finding an alternative way to live alongside the planet and others, and stumbled across Permaculture a few years ago. My initial optimism was somewhat knocked back, as so much of what I was reading, however interesting, seemed to be focused on climates that we simply don't experience within the UK. Permaculture, as a concept and an idea, originated in Australia and all of the original teachings stemmed from here. What Patrick has achieved here is he's adapted and worked with the original concepts and suggestions and applied them to the climate we have within the UK. This is, in my opinion, the go to resource for all things Permaculture. I'd also suggest this book if your looking at making some changes to your lifestyle and what to know a bit more about growing vegetables, creating energy, no dig gardening and how best to support Planet Earth.
