Olive Oil Curlshow Curl Style Mousse Infused with Collagen & Avocado Oil for Strength & Length, Alcohol Free (7.0 oz)

I have a love hate relationship with mousse/styling foams. It’s either a situation of good hold and definition with a product that has no slip and is hard to wash out. Or it’s a situation of a mousse with great slip, but it turns into a curly fro by the end of the day. This ORS Mousse is one of the first styling foams that uses polyquaternium-55 and not leave me struggling to put it through my hair. Styling foams like The Doux Mousse Def and Miche Beauty Set require me to use a 3 row comb or shower brush to apply the product through my hair. This ORS mousse I can easily rake through my towel dried damp hair with only my fingers. It also dries much softer that the two styling foams mentioned above. Today is my first day using it, but I can see it working better than many other mousses. It doesn’t have as much slip as the Lotta Body mousses nor the Just For Me Curl Peace Mousse but those use polyquat 11. While wet the blue Lotta Body mousse looks like it will have weight and be super defined. Even when using a hooded drier, my hair will eventually expand into a very round curly fro within a few hours. This ORS mousse has air dried and looks pretty similar to how it was when I first applied. Also, I find that most mousses with the exception of Miche Set dry dull when using heat. So I gave it a fair shot by letting it air dry. It took about 6 hrs to air dry fully. I have 4a/4b coils that are fine in strand size but have a thick density. Gel can take over 2 days to air dry. So I often endure long drying sessions under a hooded drier or with a diffuser. If this mousse can wash out without leaving my hair super tangled, it will surely be a winner. I exclusively wear wash n goes and have found products that leave my ends defined is the best way to avoid single strand knots. So a well defined mousse wng is gladly appreciated. I don’t know if this mousse wng set will last if I sleep on it. I don’t need my wash n goes to last forever. However, if they need to be redone every few days, they shouldn’t leave me struggling with tangly residue that requires strong cleansers to remove. This is the problem I have with Mousse Def and Miche Set. I can’t just wake up an hour or 2 before leaving for work and wash my hair. It becomes a product that take 2 to 3 shampoos and then a gentle detangling session. Even if I can get that done in under an hour, it takes just as long to apply the product because it doesn’t glide through my hair effortlessly. It took 15 mins to apply the mousse through my hair this morning. This is the closest thing I’ve gotten to a true wng since my hair has gotten longer. I’ll update and show pics in a few days. So far I’m very happy.

This mouse / foam has the best fragrance and I love the feel of my hair when using it. It keeps my curl ringlets perfectly and does not allow frizz.

The collagen and avocado oil blend keeps my hair feeling moisturized rather than stripped, and I noticed noticeably less frizz even in humidity. The alcohol-free formula is a game changer for those of us who've dealt with dryness and breakage from traditional mousses, and a little goes a long way so the 7 oz bottle lasts a while. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it takes a bit of experimenting to find the right amount for your hair type, but once you nail it, the results are gorgeous.
