I AGREE! Fantastic value. Hitachi has always been my 1st choice for enterprise HDDs. Most of mine are 10 years old. Some are 20. I purchased 8 of these "helium" 10TB units. These particular drives all clock in at 5 years POH/Heads Loaded. Absolutely no sings of instability. All have ZERO realloc events. Generate about 1/2 the heat of my older 4TB HGST drives and are quieter. Almost all my other drives have some sort of detectable vibration. These have none. Hard to tell if they're spinning or not by touch. I intend to put 6 into service and keep two spares. In 15 years I have yet to use any of my HGST spares.

Bought 8 of these to upgrade a zfs pool, all are between 20-50k hours of runtime so I'm guessing off-lease equipment pulls. One drive died after a couple days, seller was responsive and sent a return label/replaced drive as promised. So far so good a few weeks later. Decent value if the warranty is actually honored for the full 5 years and you can handle some failures.

HD broke a day or 2 after it's 60 day return window. Supposedly came with a "5 Year Limited Warranty". Every support phone number leads to a full mailbox not taking messages or a phone that rings forever without ever being picked up. All support web addresses lead to a "404 Error: Page Does Not Exist". This is straight out robbery either on the part of Hitachi or the middleman retailer here. Piece of junk HD that lasted 62 days - and there's NO WARRANTY! I'm taking the 100% complete loss here. These guys are selling pure junk that should go into the garbage, not be sold. I've been robbed... and you will be too if you fall for this BS here!! Don't patronize Hitachi or this reseller - there's no support or recourse for these broken HDs - you're on your own with the COMPLETE LOSS!!

I was very reluctant to buy such drives, as this breaks Rule #1 in computer assembly: never buy second hand hard drives. But Hitachi is a special brand, with the lowest percentage of defective drives, per respected sources. So, I got 5 pieces 4 TB, then three pieces of 8 TB and now this one. They all work. The 4 TB drives are in a RAID 5, on a shared storage that collects data from several security cameras - now working more than two years, constantly reading/writing! Other drives are just data drives, for storage and backup. Never had an issue with any of them. I'm attaching the results from CrystalDiskMark, which are fantastic in terms of speed, reaching 228 MB/s for both read and write. I also tested with CrystalDiskInfo and it shows zero issues.

I have 40 of these in use with live data 24/7 for over two years now. I just purchased more to add to my growing library. I keep a live in use copy and an offline copy (2 drives) of all of my PLEX media this way. I also keep Bluray backups of the data off-site. Very affordable and as long as you have a backup (no matter what brand/age of drive you have) you we be just fine. Has run trouble free for over two years and counting. I check my backup offline spare every year and so far no issues at all anywhere.

The reliability and quality you expect from Hitachi & WD. It does have the firmware bug for Pin3 power-save where the drive shutdown and won't wake up. It can be mitigated if you know about it. I would expect that a recert drive would not be issued with the bug years after it is known about.

Great aftermarket drive so far.

Lasted over 6 months, had no degradation and have none since buying. With memory prices rising, these are a great alternative.

Como dice un comprador aquí en ingles. Si tu computadora no lo detecta, tapa con cinta aislante los pines 1-3 del puerto sata del disco duro. Yo hice eso y funcionó sin problemas.

it worked great when I was transferring data from a older drive to it.. till I bumped the drive and the enclosure off the top of my pc (2.5 foot drop).. hello read/write errors.. idiot move on my part. It was awesome for about 2 hours. lol. Yeah it is toast and no I did not contact support due to I was the idiot that busted it.

以前他の整備品済みのHDDを買って調子良かったので、セールとポイント還元がわりといいので買ってみました。 届くの遅いから海外から来るのかと思ったらアメリカから来ました。 梱包はわりとプチプチを多くしたりで問題なさそうでしたが、つなげてみたらそもそも不良セクタもあるしで、どこが整備したり完全にテストしたんだよって感じです。 この商品を取り扱ってる個人・業者も評価の低いとこばっかりなのはなにか関係あるのかな？

These shipped with 5-year warranties and one of them died on Monday I was out of town when I got the notification from my server I came back to find there's no way to get this thing recognized on any computer so it is toast and there's supposed to be a 5-year warranty but there is no support I would love someone to reach out with a support email or phone number I can call

The drive was received in a brand new condition. Yes, it looks like brand new! And S.M.A.R.T says it has run 37K hours. I used it to replace a 100K hours 2T drive in my NAS. It is 7200rpm, so the speed is very decent but also noisy. But it is fine for use in a NAS! The seller claimed they would provide a 5-year warranty, if it is true then this is just an amazing deal!!!
