What is the difference between Vicks Sinex Soother and Vicks Sinex Micromist?

They are virtually identical except that Sinex Soother contain Aloe Vera extract as well

what has happened to the far superior original sinex ? in my opinion it was far better and lasted far longer both as use and in value.

Yep, I am with you: the original was better. Boots launched a nasal spray which had a container that was identical to the old Vicks Nasal Spray. Try that. Works for me!
