Some people may find this cane perfect for them, but it did not match the feel of my old cane and, therefore I had to return. I found the angle of the curve at the handle to be an uncomfortable fit for me. It was sturdy, though. In my opinion, it seemed more for a larger person or man.

My need for a cane slowly became more apparent as my situation progressed. What started out as something to have "just in case" like seat belts, has become more like car keys and wallet. Don't leave home without it. Once that fact was accepted, the hunt for my cane went into overdrive and a series of styles, price points and features were tested. Can what amounts to a stick with a rubber tip demonstrate important differences? Emphatically yes! Does it cost more? It does and when amortized over its useful life, costs an extra (literally) few pennies a week. On a good day I weigh 205 lbs. and top out at about 6'1", have a ten minute walk from parking lot to my classroom and am as unstable as a drunken (fill in the blank). A sturdy, wobble free cane sans butterflies was my target and I found it in this cane. It is sturdy, wobble free, doesn't sound like a hollow tube when walking and is finished very professionally. It's the perfect companion you don't have to talk to.

It was with reluctance that I purchased this Vive Walking Cane. I did not want to be the owner of a cane. I began with humility - I need some help walking; and I ended up with integrity and strength - in myself. This walking cane, has taken me from California to Brazil! And, I have walked with pride! I no longer fear the embarrassment of walking with a cane, and I must say I'm having a good time with it! I searched many canes here on Amazon, and decided on this cane from Vive. It was simple, it was inconspicuous, and it helped me. I can walk with confidence; it's a good product. It is strong and it helps me when I need support and balance. And, it's comfortable to use. The strap was not great. It broke after a month. But, I got a camera strap, and now use that. It has carried me across the world - literally! The folks at Vive sent a nice letter with the original shipment, and keep me up to date on their new products. I never expected that. So, Quality of the product is 5 stars; customer service is 5 stars. And, I don't even know them. haha! I'm a regular person. I recommend highly, especially if it's your first time purchasing a cane! Go for it, and get out and explore!

I decided on this adjustable cane that has only two parts as opposed to those that have another section or two and are held together by a cord. This is a far more stable design. Instructions on how to adjust the height are very clear and very simple. Remember to tighten the ring at the bottom and the cane will be both solid and quiet. The cane will work for a variety of people with different heights. I'm 6 ft 1 and I have two additional to holes to make the cane longer. The Vive cane comes with a single cane tip that is a well made solid product. I bought the quad tip for a little more stability and for the cane to stand on its own. The original tip was on very tight. That's a good thing since no one wants it to be falling off. The quad tip also fit on fairly tight. I got is started by hand then pushed it down on the floor using the cane for leverage. The combination of the cane and quad tip provide a very solid secure cane that will instill confidence in walking.
