This is my third Shark vacuum and there is a reason I keep buying them! They just work, period. My daughter is moving into her own apartment for the first time and wanted the same Shark we already had. It doesn't seem to still be available so I let her take it with her and got a new one for myself. I do also own a lift away but find it a little too heavy to carry around. The super long hose on this item achieves the same thing and is way easier to use. Assembly was very easy and no tools were needed. All of the components just click into place and probably took two minutes to assemble. I have learned over time that the two included attachments are the only ones I really use and both can be stored right onboard the vacuum. I love that both the foam and felt filters can be rinsed in water and do not need to be repurchased. That being said, I usually buy another set anyway so that I can rinse one set and still be able to use the vacuum while they completely dry out. As for the performance, it works really well. The ability to easily adjust the level of suction right from the handle means that I can go from a throw rug, to an area rug, to a wood floor quickly and easily. The swivel operates flawlessly and makes maneuvering a breeze. And the extension of the hose is great. To reach the ceiling, I don't have to do any heavy lifting or stretching. The dust bin is quite large and is also easy to release and empty. This particular item might not have a tons of bells and whistles, but it just works. For 95% of my tasks, it's all I need. And it is a great value! Every single one of my Shark vacuums are still working great, and I'm sure this item is no exception. For the price, it has everything I need and really exceeded my expectations once I used it. I don't see any reason to spend three or fours times the cost of this item on any other vacuum, when this item does the job. Highly recommended!

It’s the best vacuum I’ve ever used. I love every aspect of it. It’s powerful. It’s lightweight. It swivels. The handle lifts off so you have a long stick to add attachments to for stairs and small places. The attachments are great. It empties SO nice. No mess. No reaching inside. It’s just a brilliant vacuum.

I couldn’t believe how much cat fur this vacuum picked up! It is very easy to use and light weight. All attachments can be stored on the base, so I will not need to look for them when I need them.

The design of this lightweight vacuum is very clever. Emptying the debris chamber is simple and quick. Using the handle with the cleaning attachments as a hand vac is equally quick. The suction power is adjustable which is useful when applying the tools to lightweight rugs, blinds, etc. There's a little hook near the handle that helps get the cord up and out of the way. It does a good job vacuuming with and without roller brush action. Two things are liabilities -- the brush roll gets jammed if you look at it crooked and the reset to this is to have to power it off and back on using the switch located on the body of the vacuum -- not up near the handle like a trigger switch. "Look at it crooked" means pushing it forward into a deep shag carpet -- hardly any resistance met by the roller prompts the vacuum to cut power to the roller, requiring power off / on. So, the workaround using this vacuum on shag is simply to pull it backwards and approach vacuuming much like mowing a lawn -- start vacuuming from the outside perimeter -- making tighter laps around the outside until you get to the center. Or do a pass along one edge and just do tight, 180° turns as you reach the end. It's light enough you can pick it up and just lift it into an area where you want to start a pull back, but the bottom line is it's annoying how quick it is to get jammed and need a restart. All in all I'd recommend it despite this shortcoming if you don't have a lot of shag carpets to keep clean.

This is the perfect vacuum for both carpet and hard floors. Lightweight, swivel head, extra long cord. I’ve had many vacuums but this one is by far the best.
