Good printer
I got this printer to use for my classes and it works great, it was easy to setup and has a clear printing quality. definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something affordable and reliable (just like I was).

Good value for money, meets expectations
In a world where inkjet printer ink is the most expensive fluid, this printer seems to make the most of it. I bought this to replace an HP printer that had finally failed after 10 years and the Canon works better, faster and was a good value for the money. It cost 1/5th of the one it replaced and worked much better. I'm happy and would recommend it.

It worked for 5 weeks. My hubby who fixed computers in the 1970s was able to fix it YAY.
This was original review Feb 2025. Just because I have BA AA BS degrees in computer stuff doesn't mean I can hook up printers and other hardware...just saying. Last year I got 3 different printers before I got one to work. This year that one ran out of ink - I thought it would be no big deal to change the ink. AH HA - nope. What a waste of money. It shall remain nameless but rhymes with mother. It may have been the Canadian version - but it sent to Florida and printed English...I got this cute little red $49 Cannon printer and I am VERY GLAD I kept the hard wire connector wire from the old printer because it was not included and I am not ready to connect to my phone (I am in a rural area so the cell coverage is weak.) The directions were clear, it warned me if you hard wire connect to your computer you probably won't be able to wi-fi connect and sure enough it didn't do it. But IT PRINTED a document in less than an hour from out of the box! Then I printed a color document and it looks great also! I am so impressed by this great Canon printer. WOW. I will update if it gets wonky, someone said the initial ink supply is very small so I also bought the replacement ink cartridges. I only took one star off because I had to supply the connection cable that used to come with peripheral devices back in the olden days. This is so inexpensive I might buy another one just to connect via wi-fi. Very happy customer.A week later and I am still happy! It prints, text looks great!NOW IT IS FEB 15 AND ONE PIECE OF PAPER GOT STUCK! It is trash! I cannot remove the paper and cannot return the printer. Every time the electricity does a power flex (and we live in the country rural so it does it at least weekly) the printer forgets how it's connected. BIG NOTE IF YOU CONNECT IT VIA WI-FI YOU CANNOT CONNECT IT DIRECTLY TO YOUR PRINTER, IT WILL NOT PRINT. WHEN THE POWER GOOFS UP, IT RESETS THAT and quits printing.I wish I had paid more attention to the other owner review that said this has problems. THAT IS THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY. I am 30 miles from a print source - or I can do sneaker net to my husbands ratty old HP printer he got from me when i was fed up with their pirate ink service. This is probably a lousy boat anchor too!The internet was no help either. Hubby used to fix computers, and build printers, he pressed some latches on the bottom feed tray and get the torn piece of paper out. The print quality is still shabby, but I am tired of buying poor quality printers or ones that hyjack you for ink.

Long Lasting Printer
I have had this printer for 8 years and it still functions as good as the day I got it, I cannot say much about it's wireless connectivity as I've never used it since I have a lot of things that might interfere with that signal so I usually keep it hooked up to my PC. It's easy to set up and the print quality is good as long as you adjust your settings and use good paper. It's pretty durable as it has survived several moves, there are plenty of videos on YouTube if you run into any issues with your printer. For printer jams specifically, there are two methods to remove the paper, one is opening the front tray and yanking it out that way but the easier method is opening the back which has an arrow that tells you how to open it. To clean the rollers you want to do sparingly, but if you're having issues with the paper feed (not picking up or picking up too much) it might be good to clean it. There is a YouTube video online by the username Helen spuddulike that you can look at for an easier method of cleaning the roller that helps a lot. It has saved my printer many times and most likely will continue to keep it running. Also do NOT keep it on all the time, only turn it on when you want to use it. This saves not only ink but might also solve some connectivity issues so you're only turning it on when your computer is on. The scanning function also works alright, I don't think it's the best for artwork but if you're on a budget and can't afford better then you can solve most of that by adjusting images in software editors.Again this printer has lasted me 8 years going on 9 and probably further. It's a GOOD printer, especially on a budget. Despite the negative reviews, if you don't have a lot of money and need a printer for stuff at home for work or school this is a pretty good choice. I have a picture of my printer and an example of print quality as I use it to print out images for journaling/scrapbooking. I don't have any examples of photos but I imagine it's pretty good as long as it's not plain paper and you print on photo paper with the right settings.Take care of your machines and it'll last quite a long time.

Wireless connectivity problem resolved
This printer requires WPA2 mode. In order to print wireless I had to step down my WPA 3 Hybrid mode that my prior printer used to accommodate the WPA2 mode this Cannon printer requires.I spent hours trying to get this to print, called T-Mobile ( no help- said all other devices working ok so not on their end & referred me to Cannon where I could not speak to a person .. automated system stated: your device is not found and disconnect. I was ready to return it. ( BTW if the T-Mobile rep had transferred me to a higher level tech support person they would have ID the problem)Finally I got a Geek to look at this and in 15 minutes my printer was working flawlessly wirelessly via laptop iPad and IPhone. This printer was designed in 2015 which is why it would not connect . The issue is not unique.I hope this helps others.Giving it a 4 star because it is working well and color is sharp
