Really Good Stuff Comprehension Board Game Trio (3 Games): Cause and Effect, Fact or Opinion & Context Clues – Grades 4–5

My son struggles with reading comprehension. This is a fun way for him to learn well playing with the family. It's an easy way to give him constructive feedback without feeling attacked personally because he is in the mindset of playing a game. If he gets the answer wrong, we talk about why we think it's the correct answer.

I wanted a fun and engaging way to help my kiddos. They absolutely loved playing and it really help to improve their understanding.

I loved it! However, I got dissappointed by the game of context clues. I'm Latin American, so the words chosen are cognates. I was expecting something more challenging.

Whether your a parent, a teacher or a related service provider, this game is great. I've used it for mixed groups, targeted different goals, and was able to change the level of difficulty depending on the student's level. The kids like the board games because they get super competitive. The "City" one is probably the hardest because it has more "traps" (ways to go back spaces) but the kids find it funny. I like that the cards have the dice on it so that saves the chaos of having a die fling around the classroom. Came super fast and exactly as pictured (actually, better).

This is a great game for a classroom. Each player has to answer each question which makes it more engaging and gets in more practice than taking turns. I use it with third graders. There are different games inside that cover different skills. The kids love these games.

We purchased this game and we absolutely love it as a tool to help with comprehension learning. However, the game is supposed to come with three different boards and ours had a small issue - we got a duplicate of one of the three boards (so we were missing one). Not a huge problem, we figured we could contact the manufacturer and have it replaced. Sadly the manufacturer response directed us to return and have the product completely replaced. The overhead and annoyance that creates isn't worth getting a cosmetic fix. It's sad the manufacturer doesn't bother to care about their product quality control enough to fix this.

My daughter struggled with reading comprehension so I got her this game not knowing if it would really help. The first time we played it she was already getting better at understanding context clues and summarizing stories!! It's such a fun and out-of-the-box way to teach these skills where she didn't even realize it was educational! That's a mom win!

I love these games! The students love the different themes of each game board. I would suggest introducing it in a small group with teacher support. It’s difficult for many students to do independently, Especially for your spare or Esau students, or those reading below grade level.
