Hikari Cichlid Gold Floating Pellets, Large (8.8oz)

My Tin Foil and Gold Foil Barbs love this food. And there must be something great in the manufacturing process, as one of my Gold Foil Barbs reached 22" in length (the fish store told me they could reach 5-6" in length). All my fish are healthy, and getting into a feeding frenzy when I drop the pellets into the tank. When I feed them other foods, they are noticeably slower in eating, and generally leave some left over floating at the top of the tank. Not with this Hikari food -- complete and literal feeding frenzy. The pellets float, so if you have an overflow filtration you will want to look towards a sinking variety instead.

This food is nutritious and healthy. It will bring out the color of your fish. I have been using this brand for 10 years.

Product came fresh, good value. Much better price than you can get at Petco or PetSmart. My Oscar loves the ingredients in these as he always eats them. Would buy again

I have SA Cichlids that get big. They love these large floating pellets and they have better colors now!

I have a tank full of multi-sized cichlids that require different sized food. The Parrot Fish, however, will eat everything if I don't control the feeding. I start off with these big pellets so that the Parrots' mouths are full when I add the medium pellets for the medium sized cichlids. Then I throw in the smallest sized pellets for the little fish. Everyone's happy and healthy but I do admit to having to spend 45 minutes a week cleaning the tank. The combination of fish and food produces a lot of fish fertilizer (I throw the dirty water in the front yard and the grass looks great).

What can I say about fish food? Not having tried it myself, I can at least confirm that my large African Cichlids love it (evidenced by my being splashed in the face when feeding them). I have tried many brands and pellet sizes - this is a quality product which seems to keep my fish happy, healthy and growing. And it keeps me happy by being not just a quality product, but a great price as well. I don't intend to change their food again. Aside from adding freeze dried worms or lettuce now and then as a special treat, this is the daily main diet that works best for my large aquarium.
