The serum is of a soft-to-medium consistency, thinner than a cream although thicker than a milk or lotion and with an 'oily' feel. It is fragranced, not too heavily, and with a slight and pleasing lemony smell. Although also personally unfamiliar with the finer points of a 'serum' from other possible consistencies other than that potency is usually claimed as higher, their effect may be longer-lasting and not necessarily requiring re-application during the day. The moisturing effects provided by this formulation were excellent, better than many other inexpensive inexpensive formulations from some mainstream brands and it also appears to continue working for many hours. There was a degree of plumping and smoothness that was fairly quickly immediate and which will build on repeated application over a course of treatment until its maximum potential is attained and later maintained. It is said to be an ideal companion to another of the brand's products which also provides a minimal level of SPF abilities which this does not. The product is priced at the mid-to-high level considering that the dispenser holds just 30ml although the dispenser is misleadingly large and will require a few pumps to prime but only a small amount of product will be needed. There is also a 15ml travel size should that be more convenient. There were no adverse effects when used which is not the experience with another brand of of similar products. Review: Good moisturiser, but needs more refinement for the price - I've tried a lot of different types of moisturiser as I have patches of very dry skin on my face which can be very embarrassing so I'm always looking for the one that will do the job with minimal fuss and strife. There is good and bad about this product and I;ll start with the name as billing a product as an "iconic youth serum" is immediately raising expectations. Do I look younger after using for a month? No. I still look like a typical 40 something. Does it hydrate my skin? Well, yes and rather well although I find I need a re-application by mid-afternoon to avoid any dry skin in my problem areas. Is it any better than most standard moisturisers? Not that I can see. Also on the downside, I wasn't keen on the smell and the packaging looks really, really cheap. On the plus side, I found it sinks into my skin really easily and a little goes a long way. The consistency was good too as I find some creams to be really greasy or thick and gloopy. This one is about right. Finally, there's the price. It's purpose is to act as a pre-moisturiser 'conditioner' and the serum has a nice consistency and is easy to apply- skin feels soft and supple afterwards. I personally like the packaging too- clinical and efficient and the dispenser of the serum is very good quality.
