Easy to create for 8 year olds and above
Purchased this for my grandson who is 8 years old. He is very creative. He loves the gears and was amazed how easy it is to create a bowl with your hands and then paint it. I enjoyed doing it with him ac well. Good for ages over 7 to adults. Very durable, not flimsy.

Great fun and practice for beginners
This was such a great Christmas gift. My kids loved it and I love it. It’s great for them to practice with. My guys spent hours working 1 block of clay.

A fun kit that can produce pretty good pottery
Tried this out with 9 year old daughter and took a few tries to get a decent result. Like other reviewers, getting the clay to stick to the platform is key. I even went so far as to mush the heck out of it to the surface so it was as stuck as can be. The clay it comes with isn't very fresh, so that doesn't help one bit. I'm sure this would be an overall much easier experience if you buy some fresh clay. Clay really needs an adult to knead it and you should definitely add water to get it the right consistency so it doesn't just crack apart when turning it. Aside from that, easy to use, directions are decent, assembly a snap. Great gift overall.

Actually works!
We bought this pottery wheel after receiving a battery operated one as a gift for my daughter. The battery one would stop spinning as soon as you put any pressure on the clay, so it was impossible! This one actually works! My daughter loved making a little pot. She put the little gem stones all over it and then painted it once it has dried. We got it for $50 with 3 lots of clay, and all the accessories. Only a little more expensive than the cheap battery ones. I would highly recommend this as a gift for a child, or even a first pottery wheel! Easy to follow instructions and it actually works! So it’s not just a rubbish kids toy!

Bought as a gift. It was difficult for my child to use and she got very frustrated that she could not create things. Overall a little messy but that comes with doing pottery.

Performance: It delivers. It's up to the individual how precise they are in following intructions. Mainly, one has to have patience so adult supervision is best so if child needs assistance and could use words of affirmation, it'll definitely help. Appearance: Exactly as shown. Durability: I give it an 8/10. Not flimsy. Ease of cleaning: Very easy. Wet rag or wet wipes will do. Dryness: You just have to feel for it. A little drip or dab of water here and there. Value for money: It's worth it for me. One ought to be mindful that this isn't the profressional potter's wheel.

Super Product for children and adults
This was a really fun device with lots of replay value. We made a number of items with the clay enclosed in the initial package before requiring more. The wheel itself has a slight learning curve to become functionally fun (with good documentation and instructions enclosed), but you could clearly invest more time to develop skills before outgrowing the wheel. We really enjoyed the process and products. It was a great way to learn and have an afternoon of fun on a rainy day. I would hands down recommend for any child interested in pottery. The Nat Geo toys are very user friendly and relaible

Easy to use
The air dry clay that comes with the kit is difficult to use on the wheel. Recommend using actual clay and then the results are more to expectations. Fun for school to introduce students to the wheel. Easy to pack and transport, good video tutorials to watch.

Best gift by far!
I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas 2024! Boy did I get it right! She absolutely loves this pottery wheel. Wish the instructions were a little clearly, but once she watched a video on how to use it, she’s been making stuff ever since. Quality is great, very durable. Would highly recommend this
