Smooth, Lightweight, and Surprisingly Powerful – Great Value for Anglers of All Levels!
I’ve been fishing with baitcasting ("open face") reels for years, and decided to take a chance on a new brand that I'm becoming familiar with, KastKing. This reel completely exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, value, and overall build quality! Right out of the box, the Centron Lite feels solid but impressively lightweight. The sleek black finish gives it a sharp, high-end look. The ergonomics are spot-on – it sits comfortably in the palm and feels well-balanced on my medium-heavy rod. The casting distance is FANTASTIC, and once I dialed in the user-friendly magnetic brake system, backlash was almost non-existent. (HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you're relatively new to baitcasters). The 7.1:1 gear ratio makes quick work of burning spinnerbaits or retrieving crankbaits efficiently. I’ve hauled in both small & largemouth bass of various sizes, and the drag system handled it with no issues – smooth and consistent pressure all the way through. This reel is incredibly smooth for the price point. The 7+1 ball bearings definitely make a difference, especially when retrieving. I haven’t noticed any grinding or stiffness even after several full days on the water. After a few weeks of heavy use, it’s held up remarkably well. No corrosion, and a quick rinse, wipe, and light oiling had it working like new. KastKing’s build quality here really shows – especially at this price point. I’d recommend this reel to both beginners looking for an easy-to-learn baitcaster and seasoned anglers who want a solid, reliable backup or budget-friendly primary reel. It’s perfect for anything freshwater, and I don't see why it wouldn't even handle some in-shore saltwater fishing with proper maintenance and know-how. For under $50, you’re getting a reel that feels and performs like something twice the price. KastKing knocked it out of the park with the Centron Lite. It’s now a staple in my tackle setup, and I’ll definitely be looking at more gear from them in the future. I've been working their products into my arsenal over the past year, but always stayed away from their rods & reels, simply because of loyalty to my "go to" brands. I can officially say that KastKing has made its way into my "go to" brands for every product I've used, and this Centron reel just might be the best reel setup I've used in a number of years! LIFETIME CUSTOMER!

Beautifully Built Baitcaster!
My hubby dragged me into the fishing hobby kicking and screaming, so of course, I had to have the best gear, so I went with my hubby's favorite brand - KastKing! I started with this reel, but then quickly upgraded to the KastKing MG-Ti Elite, once I got the hang of how a baitcaster works. I really only upgraded because he had gotten it for himself but prefers the spinning reel, so it made sense for me to steal it for my own use. :) This is a PERFECT reel to learn from and also for everyday use. Now I use both, the new one for repeatedly casting lures, and this one for casting a line to sit and wait for a bite. I tried several different reel types and discovered I love the baitcaster best, using a right handed orientation in my dominant left hand for a "no switch" method. This reel is also PERFECT for those with smaller hands that get fatigued quickly from larger reels. It is a compact, but very sturdy design that works with both large and small hands, and the ultra lightweight body makes it ideal for small hands like mine. The first day I tried fishing, I used a spinning reel and my wrist/forearms were sore after just a few hours. So I paired a baitcaster with a short grip pole and I haven't had any soreness problems since. Quite a few people questioned my choice of starting out fishing with a baitcaster, saying I would end up with a "birds next" backlash. I'm happy to report that it hasn't happened once with this reel, (or the other KastKing baitcaster) thanks to the superior control and fine tuning capabilities their reels offer. I have tried it in both a large lake and a small creek with zero issues. It's worth noting, I tried this with the 12lb KastKing mono line at first and it was okay, but it didn't glide as smooth as I thought it should and made a pretty loud "zing" sound when casting. At the recommendation of a friend, I quickly switched to: "Seaguar Red Label Fishing Line for Power Baits & Heavy-Duty Applications, Freshwater, 100% Fluorocarbon, Clear, 12lb" and now it glides like butter! I am primarily fishing for Bluegill, trout, and steelhead. Bottom line, this is a really great reel, at a really great price, perfect for the novice and experienced angler alike!

Quality reel
For the price, it’s hard to top. Spooled some line on it the day I got it, and took it out to test it. Smoothest retrieve and casting out of seven reels I own. Casts a little further than my other baitcaster reels.

Value
The reels I normally buy are 4 and 5 times higher than this reel. I set out to put this reel through hell. With 30lb braid on I went to Guntersville. This is one of the best lakes in the country and if you’ve fished it, you know how heavy the grass is. It dialed in quick to the bait I was throwing. 1/2oz jackhammer with trailer. On the retrieval I was able to rip through intermittently scattered grass. Pulling fish through and out of the grass after hooking up was challenging considering the 10lb drag on the reel. I was still able to land fish. I don’t suggest using this reel for this kind of cover, but I wanted to know if Kastking was going to be a part of my arsenal moving forward. Bottom line, if this reel last through the fall bite at Guntersville, Pickwick, and Eufaula - Kastking will solidify its spot in the arsenal! Look forward to getting the megajaws elite for that heavy cover I love to fish. I also plan to put the kestrel elite to the test on crappie at Weiss and Gerneda as well. Kastking has my attention for sure. I've wanted to test Kastking for a while to see if they are truely offering options for the budget fisherman and I think they are. It gives me high hopes for the higher end options they offer.

Perfect and will recommend.
I’m impressed about this reel. I got it for my birthday and couldn’t wait to attach it to my rod. Looks amazing on it. Got it dialed perfectly and casts super smooth. Took it out for the first time, almost had a bass, but didn’t hooked it well. 100% worth the buy.

It's worth trying out.
It feels ok , a slight rubbing between the spool and the plastic , you don't feel it rub but you can hear it. It does cast well but I am very good at using a baitcaster. So far so good ,how long will it hold up thats the question. For the price I would say it is worth trying.

Bueno
