I do a lot of landscaping around my house, and usually rent a vibrator compactor. But wanting to be more self-sufficient, I decided to give this hand-held compactor a try. I was surprized at how well it worked! If you do this right, wet the gravel/soil while compacting, you will get an amazingly solid base for any project. Worth every penny!

It's good

Clever packaging and good overall product.. saved me 20$ vs hardware store. Other reviews are correct.. the extra long bolts stick out quite a bit and are annoying. Not a deal breaker for me since I’ll use sparingly for minor yard projects but wouldn’t buy otherwise. Bolted components for the shaft vs a store bought singular shaft make it so that it feels a bit loose and upon impact you can feel it clink/shift in your grip a bit. The 10x10” size is nice and larger than others I saw at Home Depot 8x8
