Is this lightweight enough for summer cycling?

Yes. My husband works 12-14 hours in the Florida heat and he said this vest was more bearable than the high-viz t shirts they were required to wear.

My son is short and has a wide chest and back so I got him a 2X and it fit fine. Remember you can always return for a different size. But if you want extra room order a larger size.

Yeah, you can machine wash the vest, but I dont recommend drying it. I hang mine up to dry.
