But the kettle is actually a plastic handle with plastic parts. It looks very sturdy in the photos but is not so sturdy when you lift it and use it. However I got over the initial surprise that it was somewhat of a cheap plastic product and really do like the way it looks and it does heat the water nicely and works very well. I think for the price of the kettle, I sorta expected it to be more solid. I do like it enough to have bought a second kettle to use at my vacation home. So I did by it twice and I do love the look of the design.
