This soil is absolutely amazing. I have never seen so many roots come grow from my plants and I've never seen them grow so fast. I can't say enough about this soil. It saved some of my plants from dying because it's just so nutrient packed and it retains the right amount of water while still draining properly. One bag of soil was enough for me to plant 8 succulents. It might look small, but theres quite a bit in the bag. It might be a little bit expensive, but it couldn't be more worth it to see all your plants thrive so much. If you're having doubts, just order it. You won't be sorry.

I’m so glad I made the decision to try the soil. I had no idea that the succulent soil I was using wasn’t properly draining. I was losing so many succulents and I had no idea why so I started doing a little bit of research. Poor drainage was the common denominator that I kept coming back to. This soil is wonderful. It is everything it says it is.

Purchased a bag of this potting mix in spite of the high price. Repotted a few cacti, an agave and some succulents that weren’t doing well in a cactus and palm potting mix available at big box stores. The first thing I noticed with this product is how nice the potting mix looks. It’s beautiful stuff! No need for gravel on top to make it look good. After a few weeks in this potting mix my plants are doing so much better. The Beehive Cactus in particular is just going nuts growing. Never seen a slow growing type of cactus respond so quickly. The only negative about this potting mix is the ridiculously high price for a small bag of desert dirt, but honestly I think it’s worth it. Never seen anything like it available in the southeastern USA and my cactus LOVES it.

best succulent/cactus soil Ive used. It's heavy to hold roots. It's small grit for delicate roots. Very nice

I purchased both the cactus and the succulent blend. They both seem to be great products so far, the plants I have in these soils are doing well. The rest of my plants are just going to have to deal with being in the “other” soil because for me and the volume of plants that I own, there is no way that I can justify the cost…and I’m pretty good at justifying things when it comes to my plants. The package I received was used for my red fishhook barrel cactus. The soil is perfect for these cacti. The water drains quickly from the bottom of the terracotta pot. The service is also excellent as expected from a company that specializes in this type of drainage soils. I definitely recommend their products from this company. Thank you.

First, i waited nearly 1yr to leave this review. I wanted to see how my plants would do. Im really torn on this product. I ordered 2 bags of the Desert Blend & the first bag was a dream- everything I wanted in a cactus "soil". In fact, with a slight tweak, I was able to use in my succulents, as well. All those plants are THRIVING! However, the second bag was completely & totally different- night & day. Less pebbles, less aeration, more compact- almost gritty. I know they make other products- I can't help but wonder if it was another blend. All of those plants (2nd bag) are struggling. I'm so worried I'm going to lose them. I'm on the fence about purchasing again. I really wanted to love this!
